What if a dog were to run out into the road necessitating a full blown energency stop?

You know the type that would send an unrestrained passenger through the windscreen with force of ten elephants.
Poor dog I say. Car avoided it, but it got squished by ten elephants.

This thread is fantastic. Bookmarked for sure.

Op, she's too fat to wear a seat belt. End of story. HR will have to pay for a tow truck to pick her up everyday instead of lumbering your poor wife with her.

God knows what your missus would think you were into if she came out to find you sniffing the passenger seat.
Best clear your internet history just in case. Dont want her coming across nudebbw.com that you enjoy so much

It’s certainly possible that the belt won't reach if she is a proper superchunk. I took an acquaintance home from a BBQ a while back, his daughter was in the back with just enough leg room (she is average build and quite short) and he was sat in the front, the seatbelt would not reach, it was something like 6"to 8" too short and this is in a modern American car.

I would raise the seatbelt issue with HR. I wouldn't be comfortable doing any more than the short trundle I did with any of the passengers not wearing a seatbelt.

Hold on, your profile suggests that you own a Tiger?

How sturdy is the suspension on that one? scratchchin

Unfortunately not in this case...they're made for "powerfully built" company directors, you see. wink

Hate to say it but have you smelt the passenger seat?
Thanks for that. I now feel quite ill... hurl

That last point seals it. Company can't force your wife to accept a passenger who can't wear a seatbelt.

Think about it. You get hit side-on on the passenger side and Sumo commuter isn't wearing her seatbelt properly, then she is going to be catapulted sideways out of her seat and is going to hit your wife with the equivalent of twice/three times her already considerable bodyweight. Which could kill your wife.
I was reading this with a smile on my face until I got to the seatbelt thing. sorry but this is where your wife has to raise the issue, as subtlety as possible, with HR. Fat person is putting your wide in danger and you should really never have anyone in a moving car unrestrained, let alone every day for an entire commute.

PS I would also be considering ensuring that she has Business Use on the insurance policy for her car as well, it adds nothing to the cost of my policies and little (like £10-£25) to most others who don't get it for free but might be what you need if ferrying about co workers, even if you might argue that it is only commuting.

I suspect this is a wind-up but there is no way in hell I would let some hippocrocapig wreck my car's interior etc. - If they can't get in without crushing the side bolsters and/or if they can't sit normally in the seat, the answer is "NO!"

OP Let's say she can't use the reserved space after pulling out of the car share scheme for whatever reason.

What would happen?

I think I spotted your wife and her colleague on their commute yesterday

If you look closely the rear side rear wheel does look to be under excessive strain so I think your missus does have a case with the HR dept.

Time for your missus to start going to work on a moped or scooter.

Pretty sturdy to be honest but its damn slow and the fuel economy is apalling. Sadly I doubt said superchunk that this thread focus' on would even fit through the ammo loading hatch on the rear of the turret never mind the regular hatches hehe

Leave HR out of it you sods. I'd be(OK, just have been)laughing as hard as you.

Could she perhaps go on secondment to the company's Japanese arm - purely for scientific reasons, of course?

Those suggesting she sit in the back have grossly underestimated the size of person we are talking about here.

It's a 3 door hatchback and the opening offered up by the front door is barely large enough to admit her. The possibility of her squeezing in to the gap betwixt front seat and door pillar is zero.

Just rip out the passenger seat so she can sit in the back like Hightower from Police Academy.
