Up until last Monday it was definitely my old 328i. Brilliant drive, lovely engine, made you feel a million dollars even when you had a 2 hour commute into deepest darkest Dudley for the morning. Sadly rust on every panel and a knackered fuel pump finished it off, and it was replaced with an infinitely better, yet nowhere near as enjoyable 330d.

I say up until last Monday as that was when I picked up a 125i Coupé. From what I can tell so far, it appears to be all the 328i was and more.

I miss my Senator B

From 1991 to 2006 I always had at least one on the drive in daily use (sometimes more than one) it didn't matter if they were 2.5, 2.6 or 3.0 with 12V or 3.0 with 24V they were all a really good drive.

Just a few pics of just a few of them

This.
Regularly broken, rattly, a bit chavvy but I loved it.
Did 20k in just over a year including 2k miles round Scotland and 2k miles round Germany + the Alps.
Wouldn't want it back, but had great fun with it in my early 20s!

An itch I still wish to scratch!

Miss the 2003 Z4 2.5 I had and I do regret not getting the immaculate and low mileage Z4 3.0 Sport I looked at last year.

My first mk2 escort. It was falling to bits around me,To help me get rid My mum offered to give me her mk2 fiesta I said no, My dad offered to buy me a xr2 I had been hankering after and I turned him down.
Swapped it for a mg metro and tickets for entry of cream nightclub in Liverpool and the ferry over to scotland.
The mg ended up in a scrapyard over in England due to the bonnet flying up when on the outside lane of the motorway heading down past Preston..never made the club.

Red 1984 Rover Vitesse similar to the one below. Effortless cruiser, with plenty of go (for the time) and (somewhat strangely) a chick magnet to boot.

Still miss it.

I miss my modded TVR Chimaera 500. Even a sedate drive out got my heart racing! Great car.

I'm going to find it hard to top on the smiles-per-mile scale!

97 Supra SZ-R. Jap import which was mechanically sound but had the most horrendous Veilside bodykit and awful multifit TE37 replicas hiding away in the arches.

Whipped off the rear picnic table and smoothed out the tailgate, can't understand why so many mkivs receive the giant wing treatment when they have such nice lines without them.

Fitted a Do-Luck front and a Blitz rear, some nice light Advan wheels and had a full custom made exhaust from the manifold back, which made the 2JZ sound fantastic without being too Maxy Power.

The SZ-R came with a 6 speed Getrag (V160/161) gearbox, which to this day was the nicest gear change Ive ever experienced, such a lovely 'snick' to it.

The car also had an extremely comfy and supportive Recaro drivers seat, which combined with the driver focused dash made it feel like a proper 'cockpit' environment.

It was also a facelift model, so it had the newer head and tail lights, which updates the overall look of these nicely.

A bit of fiddling with the Eibachs had the ride height exactly where I wanted it, so I drove it everywhere in all conditions with no problems.

The Supra was something of a dream car for me, lusted after one since my mid-teens and didnt actually take the plunge until the ripe old age of 25. I owned another (auto) after it, which was great for what it was, but I don't miss anything quite as much as that Supra.

The only downside is that it was my first >4 cylinder car, and since owning it I find it hard to get excited about anything less than a 6 cylinder noise.

It looks a little 'ricey' to me 30+ eyes now, but in the flesh it had real presence and class in gunmetal grey. Such a shame that there are so many ropey/ abused examples around these days.

E46 m3 convertible is the one I miss. Bought in May 2009, part exchanged in January 2011. I'd had an e46 330ci sport for 5 years before hand, so when sitting in traffic on the daily commute it kind of didn't seem like a different car. Guess I just got bored of looking at the same dashboard.

Regret it now, mainly because I miss the SMG gearbox. Would love another car with a similar box. Oh and the sound of the exhaust with the roof down on a sunny day.

Cliche but definitely my CSL... Was such a brilliant all rounder.
Seriously thinking of buying one, sealing it in a carcon and giving it to my son in 25 years!

Could even fit babyseats (which got plenty of laughs at the Ring)

I do like them with that head light set up, lovely looking car (where were the photo's taken by the way? looks rather familiar).

my Pug 306 D-turbo

2 owner car inc me from new

not fast but great suspension and steering

After I swapped the continental tyres for Toyo CF1 Proxies it was improved even more.

I could drive it in the twistys at very impressive rate

surprised quite a few so called fast cars with 2 to 3 times my bhp.

PX'd for a MX5 1.8 NB, which I was surprised to have almost identical steering feel.

My mkv r32 golf, the only car I have ever bought after the end of the lease, even after 5 years the growl and instant shove still made me smile
