Hi Flemke, As someone who is clearly interested in engineering I'd be interested to hear what you think about the Lexus LFA comparatively to the Carrera GT.
V.
Two of the best sounding cars ever in my opinion.V.
The F1 probably third on that list. Different type of sound. More mechanical, but still glorious

That bloody steering "wheel" is a deal-breaker for me. Why oh why did they have to make the bottom of it so straight? Idiotic.
Surely, with all the connections you've made during your time modifying the F1, you must be able to find someone who can make you a steering wheel to your liking? alecmets2011 said:

Not a fan of this ^, looks too much like a 612 Scaglietti to me, which in itself is no looker.
I Agree, it does have a fair dollop of 612 about it, but at least the scag' had that 'classic coach built' look about it. That element is something that I think this has too, which I think is an essential ingredient that the latest generation Ferraris lack. I think it will age so much better than the original F12. I also think that if you removed the badges, and if you look at the other images in the link, that it could pass for a modern Aston, (which also lack the coach built look about them).

Would respectfully disagree on the order. Although a V10 might sound more urgent, a V12 will always sound more euphonious. Could be an Aston, Lambo, Bentley, Ferrari - it doesn't matter - they all make the most beautiful music. My dream car would have a 4-litre V12, weigh 1000kg, and look nice.
A Ferrari 330 LM/B then?!Animal said:

Also, I don't think I'd want to have to hire somebody whose full-time job was to try to adjust the carburettors.

Have you considered a Singer? Believe you... appear to enjoy a degree of customisation, so would seem a good fit. They even seem good value to me, especially the way classic prices have gone.
Flemke, what is your opinion on the new models compared to the classic??Classic lines of the vintage model v the aerodynamic purity of the newer model...it's a tough one.

Thats a bit rich coming from a P1 owner, and i quote
We set the aerodynamic targets very early,’ explains Dan Parry-Williams, McLaren’s chief design engineer. ‘We looked at race cars and worked out what was possible. We targeted 600kg of downforce, and we wanted it around the speed that we’ve got it [from 161mph]. Of course, the problem with downforce is that you can have too much of it – if you double the speed you quadruple the aerodynamic downforce and you soon reach a point where you’ve got more than you can handle. That’s the great thing about active aerodynamics – we can just shed that downforce and manage it at high speed. And we can manage the dynamics of the car through a corner – we can change the aero balance depending on whether you’re in the braking phase or mid-corner or accelerating out.
Now those HUGE "gouges" in the side, remind me why they are there again.

Flemke,
I know you're somewhat dissatisfied with the P1, especially the elec bits and bobs, any thoughts of trading it back for 675lt?
Also I read they're making 500, anyone know how the distribution of that was handled (I'm assuming they're all sold already) was it offered to F1 and P1 owners first?
Cheers

Because there will be more 675s than there are F1s and P1s all together, there was no need to give those existing owners priority. I don't know what would have happened if in the first couple of days they had more than 500 letters of interest from 12C/650S and F1/P1 owners, but that didn't happen.I know you're somewhat dissatisfied with the P1, especially the elec bits and bobs, any thoughts of trading it back for 675lt?

There is something of a priority list for choosing chassis numbers, with P1 owners having first crack at getting a 675 chassis # to match their P1 chassis #.
As for selling one and getting the other, yes, I expect to do that.
