May I ask what Ferrari's you have owned
is there any current or older Ferrari that you would consider owning?
A 360 and a couple of 550s. Then the company starting playing dirty in racing (or at least that was when I started to notice), and I walked away.

"Consider owning" I take to mean "on balance one likes it, but not enough to buy one".

Amongst the road cars, there are good things to be said about 250 SWB, 275 GTB, 365 GTB, 355, 550/575, 599, 612 and FF.
Also, I once thought seriously about getting an F50, which is derived from an inspired concept, but the back end of that car is just monstrous.

I may be the chap standing behind the car with his arms crossed, or one of the guys sitting outside the pub.

I don't think of the P1 as a permanent part of my life, but I may keep it for the foreseeable future.

I'm glad you made that clear.

That's a hell of a nice car regardless. If I could afford one it would be a very hard choice between that and a Porsche 918.

Spoiler "up" because?

I always wonder why aesthetics suggest a sleek profile, spoilers become retractable, and yet are left "up" intentional.

Just saying
Reason the car was in London was to do a favour for someone who takes photos of OTT cars. There ended up being a bunch of photographers present.

Whilst they were snapping, I was asked to put the car in "Track" mode. I never drive around with it extended, which looks silly and of course is unnecessary on the road.

Given the way prices are going you may as well keep it as an investment if nothing else.

And I thought I was cool when my Dad took me out and about or dropped me off at school in his Escort Cosworth back in the mid-late 1990s frown

A ridiculous thing to say I know, but no thank you.

I really feel for 'you' in so far as the complete examination and following of the car and invasion of privacy.

The 'One' I know has says he has looked to punt it on because of this 'chasing' by people and camera's everywhere.

An iPad nearly went through his windscreen the other day he told me as the loons in the car in front were leant out taking photos and dropped it, bouncing off of the road........
Not my video, I wasn't even there... I was merely posting it due to the fact of the photo posted further up of the same car. I don't agree with chasing cars or standing in the road or even leaning over the car with a phone or camera or even an iPad that can easily be dropped and damage the car.

I think this market is due for a rest, and especially for some differentiation. Recently it's been a "rising tide lifts all boats" phenomenon, but that won't last.

The other day I happened upon a thread on PH relating to 599 GTOs. Roughly 16-18 month ago I thought about getting one, although instead I got a new SLS Black, which is a very similar car (but of course much better built, although lacking a V12) for the same money, roughly £250k. At that time, there were advertised in Europe roughly a dozen GTOs for that sort of money, £250-300k.

Well on this PH thread people were talking about asking, or advertised, prices for 599 GTOs being IRO £600-700k, with one car's asking price having recently been raised to something like £775k.

I'm sorry, but the value of almost nothing in this world has increased by 100% since the beginning of last year. I'm not saying that there won't be someone, somewhere who is wealthy enough and desperate enough to pay such prices, but there are not enough such people to keep the mania going. A correction will come, affecting all cars but especially cars that are not rare. A build run of 400 does not IMO make a car "rare", or at least not rare enough. Build runs of 400-2000, which would cover almost all of the coveted Ferraris, certainly do not make those cars rare. The reason for this is that, with several hundred of something about, there will always be someone who is willing to sell. With build runs of say 150 or fewer, there may be times when there is not a single car for sale, or maybe a single car for sale but more than one person who is keen to buy it.

Maybe that's why Chris Evans is selling 11 of his cars now.

I would disagree with the "One" whom you know.

Although I don't enjoy the attention, and normally when driving an OTT car would prefer to be personally invisible, I think it is churlish of someone to buy one of these cars, take it out in public, and then grumble when other people, who are not in the lucky position to have such a car, become enthusiastic and want to photograph or video it. It's usually "kids", or at least younger people, who are doing this: who would begrudge them their fun?

I do not want pictures of my person publicised, but that is a separate matter. If people want to take pictures of any car on the public roads, it should not be the owner's place to complain.

Could be, although is he not known for turning over his cars fairly regularly?

It is a great looking car; that open rear end in particular just fabulous, unprecedented.

That's a very reasonable and logical attitude regarding attention and privacy.
