Depends how many are available in year one, if not to many they should hold quite well imo.
VERY limited numbers for the UK I believe. Certainly in the first year or so anyway.

Unlikely to drop quite that badly - if the current car is anything to go by. Been out for over a year now - still no discount available on new, a six month waiting list and used cars getting close to list.

I'm a huge fan of the nurburging and the test it provides to any "car", but sticking a lap time on this thing is like asking David Cameron to do a lap of Monaco on race weekend. You know he could probably do it, but it would be awkward as hell to watch laugh
Same old same old comment which gets regurgitated every time an SUV is released, a bit unimaginative now. The Nurburg lap time is relevant because it is being marketed as a very high performance SUV and like it or not this has now become the yardstick to which the performance is measured. If it has achieved a decent time it just highlights that they have managed to implement the technology to good effect and get the most out of it. This in turn will highlight to any potential buyers that if its a high performance SUV that handles really well that they want then Range Rover have the perfect option. No ones going to buy it on the basis of how quick it can get across a muddy field are they?

Personally I wouldn't want a very high performance SUV, it just seems at odds as to what they are good at and the least said about those silly SUV coupe things the better. I do however know people who want the benefits of a high performance saloon mixed with high driving position and perceived extra safety of being in an SUV so one has an AMG ML and the other has a Cayenne Turbo so each to their own. Neither of them is a local gangster, estate agent or soccer mum just to dispel the common belief

For those that like lots of detail about the detailed engineering changes made by SVO check out here:
http://newsroom.jaguarlandrover.com/en-in/land-rov...

I imagine it will be severely supply limited, like the normal RRS V8s which are on extended delivery times - up to a year when I last checked. With SVO producing specials like this across the range, they make useful news stories for JLR in between the regular model launches.

One of the following cars is possibly the coolest way to arrive ever made. The other one is possibly the naffest way to arrive. I'll leave it up to you to decide which is which......

Ooh, ooh, I know! wink

But then as I now have three Classics, a '72, an 89 Vogue and just bought one of the 400 original In Vogue 2 doors and collecting the hamper for it tomorrow then I am somewhat bias.

The nice thing about the Classic (same with my Typhon) is that the doormen at the Dorchester will move a Veyron so that you can park out front. biggrin

Obviously, the correct answer to your question is the first car, with the running gear of the second. That would then give the fastest A-B car in the UK with the most style.

Stupid, stupid, stupid and a massive missed opportunity to boot

I have to respect something that is so fast but they should have 918'd it. Plenty of room to stick some batteries in, lose all the front driveshafts and related crap and make something that can cruise round chelsea at a zillion miles to the gallon but that blow most stuff away at the lights.

Landrover is apparently an "urban" brand now so why not do something that will please boris at the sametime. Any tuner can make a Range Rooney go fast but it takes proper engineering know how to incorporate the latest hybrid tech and show the germans we can match their best technology, put a £20 tax disc on it and get round the company car tax rules!

Yes but not a particularly imaginative hybrid. The diesel makes more sense

Diesel's for poor people. Not sure that fits with a premium product from a brand. wink

Not really, was conceived as a posh off-roader for people who found the standard car (Defender) too 'off-roady'
Which was quite an achievement as it was designed decades before the Defender. wink

In addition to the UAE, I'm sure they'll sell loads where I live. Even record fuel prices here in the US aren't half of what you pay in the UK. Combine that with an area full of wealthy foreign diplomats, politicians, real estate investors, and tech corporations/military contractors, I imagine these will become a relatively common sight, for me. Granted, they'll have to overcome the popularity of the G63 AMG, the current "in-vogue" vehicle for congressmen, lawyers, doctors, and soccer moms, alike. Can't blame them; the G63 is one of the only modern cars I'd buy if I won the lottery and the only SUV that interests me in any way (apart from Defender 90s and FJ40 Land-Cruisers).

They sell plenty of 5L SC which at 510hp is the same sort of economy. The main difference is this one clearly handles like a sports car as opposed to a boat.
Have you driven a S/C Sport? I have driven many and have driven it on the track, through slalom courses etc.. Boatlike it aint.

The only problem with this car is we won't get enough of them.

I'll never be able to write an honest review on the range rover. I just dislike everything about them.

Its just a vehicle that you will see taking up more than their allowance of parking space, lashed half arsed on a kerb or on double yellow lines in London or outside some tiny house with no driveway in hale village.

A big car for the tts.

You're right. It's not for the Little Englander. I suspect it's mostly going to be bought by successful people. Some of those may buy it because they feel that alongside hair care products it helps others to know their wealth, some will buy it because it is British and a monster of a hoot. Some of these people will also be foreigners and some English. Some will have inherited their wealth, some earned it, some stolen it.

But, it won't be bought by the Little Englander. Because he is too little.

A TDV8 Autobiography can easily cost over £100k, as could an equivalent luxury saloon (S-class etc.).

What are you all talking about?! If you can't afford it or don't like it, you don't have to buy it...

And so what if these so called 'tractors' end up filling the streets of Chelsea?

From the sounds of it the majority on here want us to drive around in cars from the 70s, and the only reason I can surmise is that cars are too good nowadays!?

The technical spec of this car is absolutely mental, it can be a comfortable cruiser, a drag strip monster and an dakar racer all at the switch of a button.
