I would struggle between one of these and a Sapphire Cosworth,I have had loads of Mk2 Gti's and they are brilliant. A brand new one would be bliss. An outside shout would be a Cavalier Gsi. I have had a few of those too and they would be the best DD of my short list.

There were nine in total. I cant remember the order, but numbers 901-910 are (i think) v8 coupe, volante, vantage, vantage volante, lagonda, vantage zagato, zagato volante, virage, v8 vantage vol pow. Quite a collection!!

My choice would be a Honda Prelude 2.0 4WS

Owned one and it was a joy to drive, would happily own another.

Oddly my car was made in 1990 and my camper from 1991, both on an H plate though. Would love to use the Mercedes as a daily but the fuel bills might mount up.

E36 325i (august 1990 according to wikipedia)

I just have a soft spot for the E36, so to drive a new one without rusty arches and wobbly suspension would make me so happy.
The E36 wasn't launched until 1991.... I remember it well,I had one of the first one's in Yorkshire..... I now have a lovely one owner M3 EVO Convertible tucked away in the garage as i think they are going to be a good future classic....?

Not 1990 in the UK for a 325 more like 92.

Good choice but I'd go for a 944 turbo SE, they are brilliant cars even at 100k miles so it would be amazing to have a 0 miles new example today, plenty capable to use as a daily driver.

I ran Mk2 Golf GTIs as my daily driver for years (from 1991 to 2007)
Never managed to get an Oak Green one frown

I was having a nose around Volkswagen UK's own mk2 Golf GTI 8v 90 spec big bumper at the weekend along with several other time warp mk2s.

If i'm totally honest, although it only had 200 miles on the clock I was actually quite disappointed by the state of it and the lack of preparation it receives prior to going on displayfrown

I know a chap who has a 1987 with circa 33k on it and it is utterly spectacular and the closest most of us will get to a as new factory spec mk2

I'd still have a 16V everyday though in less we are including Euro spec cars in which case a 1990 Edition 1 G60 in dark burgundy pearl like this would be perfect:

A good choice; I've never even been in this generation of M5 but I imagine I'd like the manual/straight 6 combination. Perhaps by having a new one it would avoid the issues that people seem to mention every time the e34 M5 comes up (how bad can it be compared to modern cars though?!)
