I love these T70's. We stood in the pit garage at Oulton a couple of years back, admiring one pre-race. I have footage of it firing up. I swear, my boy had a child sized heart attack. Incredible machines.

Absolutely the most lovely car ever! I am so envious. The Masters Sports Cars are the highlight of the Classic for me.

Blooming lovely cars - Mr Harris certainly is a lucky chap. One of these or a GT40 though....? Sadly, a question that will never be relevant to me unless it's applying to Matchbox models. A great little YouTube clip of some in action...

Both designed by Eric Broadley. I think he did the GT40 straight after the T70 and they share many design concepts.

Everyday is a school day - didn't know that. Fascinating that their longevity as a classic race car is predicated on their simplicity and hardiness.

Mostly true but I think you have your dates backwards. The first GT40 was built in early 1963, and first raced in May 1964, whereas the T70 was introduced in 1965. Both are equally beautiful machines though smile

You got there before me, I was just watching and listening to that thinking the CD in my edition in Nick Mason Mark Hales books doesn't sound as good.

Here's some in car video, it sounds better from outside I think:

Achingly gorgeous car. Seen many T70s at Donington on test days. One of the first lottery purchases for sure.

Lotus 23b, I think.
I think we need a fight to resolve this hehe
It's a B, the C has cut-outs for the wider rear wheels.

Saw six of these at Donington at a historic meet this year. The sound at the start was something else! Six of these and a pile of Chevron B16s. Heaven!!
I remember them at the Donington Historic a coulple of years ago. What a sound. You feel the reverberations deep in your chest. Awesome.

I've got a photo somewhere of the rear tyres and other bits close up. I'll dig them out later and post them here. Amazing machines.

Chris, you are one lucky, lucky, lucky bd!

fantastic car, Lola Cars seem to suffer a sad fate (correct?) for such a fine establishment and talent as their team.
Well done Mr Fox for keeping this wonderful design a mechanical reality.

I don't have much footage from Silverstone, but here's my shaky highlights reel from the Historic Sports Cars at Brands back in May smile

Chris was the bravest/latest on the brakes coming into maggots by some way. Very impressive to see. Don't upset the "pro drivers" any more Chris, they don't like it when people come along and beat them...

Another pic to show just how small they are without the front and rear clams...

Saw my first driven by Denny Hulme in 1968 (Oulton Park ) and was at the Classic this year to watch this and all the other races. Anybody who says journalists can't drive would change his mind after terrific stints by Harris and Meaden (although the latter was in even better form for the saloon race in a Lotus Cortina - his scrap with Shedden was wonderful to watch) . The T70 is one of the sexiest looking , meanest sounding sports racing cars ever- I watched a McLaren P1 being driven around Croft the other day and its noise was utterly underwhelming compared to a T70's smallblock Chevy in full cry. If you have never seen one of these brutes close up- engine running - then just f**ing do it; it is soul stirring and makes any road car look and sound forgettable . ANY road car.

Cracking stuff. There can never be too much T70.
