Chunks.. I'd long ago accepted that I'll never own one of these classics myself. But your tales of the Ignis both here and at the towers are the next best thing!

In fact, better.

Thankyou for sharing. This kind of vehicle is the kind most of us can only dream of experiencing, I like to think that by reading this thread we are receiving a taste of what it is like to be a custodian of one of these magnificent machines.

You may with to look up the 'Jay Leno's Garage' episode on YouTube, where he presents his Ignis Sport.

C, thank you for your generosity in this thread, it's inspired me to look at lease deals again...it appears for a measly deposit of £9,995 and 48 monthly payments of £495, I can drive my dream Ignis for 4 years of trouble-free motoring, and not only that, should I choose to make the balloon payment of £27,995 at the end of the term (based on a RRP of £34,995) I can own the car outright if I so wish!

There's a slight mileage restriction of 35 miles per week, but that's plenty for me, and anything above that is only charged at 14.5% over the introductory mileage rate (+VAT) for the first 6 months (I forget the details) and allowing for the usual new car depreciation of 17.5% per annum if I bought it outright it means they're actually paying me to drive it! (I think).

ps thank you bow

Thankyou so much for the reply, I shall file both your words and the episode in my collection.

I heard a rumour there were plans for a Ignis Cup Race Series but they were shelved. Was it the exclusivity or the prohibitive team startup costs that ruled it out?
Also I just have to know, what are your thoughts on the aircraft alloy dustcaps available at high-end tuning outlets like ebay & Halfords? Are you running these or custom crafted specials?

What a car, and what a man for being so open about his ownership. Chunk, if only us mere mortals could experience what you've experienced, the world would be a happier place. Kudos to you and I hope you carry on updating us as you go. We can only dream of such an experience. cloud9

I think I have 2 dustcaps. Obviously for weight saving purposes and nothing to do with having to inflate my front tyres every second week...

Only 2? Wow, that's genius! It's such a treat that you share your infinite wisdom on these matters with worthless humble mortals like myself. Thank you so much, I feel so honoured to have interacted with such a legend and feel that, in a small way, I'm a little closer to the glitzy glamorous world you inhabit.

Was this modification done at the factory? In fact, is it a factory approved modification and how did they feel about you having it done if it wasn't?

After reading all 7 pages i'm none the wiser.

Reading this thread was like a malarial dream.

Malarial Dream. Ah, yes. I believe Chunj has them in The Ignis. Well, certainly their early stuff.

Have we talked about ICE, yet?

I think I read somewhere that none of the airlines wanted the risk of shipping such a valuable vehicle.

I had planned to go, but it clashed with a caravan holiday in Berwick.

Chunj, I take it you aren't going to put the white go-faster stripe on the side of the Ignis as it doesn't suit this model?

For those of you who don't know what we're talking about his previous car had one. I doubt any of you losers knew that as you don't stalk him in desperate hope of recognition have the close relationship I have with him.

I was close to him until this. At least I thought I was. You think you know someone.

He sent me a hat once. At least I think it was him. I'll never know now. He's ignoring my posts.
