For me, these are perfect, 18" AC Schnitzer 5 spokes from my dad's old 3 series:

Not the sexist wheels ever, but worthy of a mention here.

Porsche wheels look like wheel trims.

Carl
I quite like the Porsche wheels, they look like the aero trims they put on the 956/962 at Le Mans.

I nearly did a trouser accident seeing that 159 on the first page - the exact wheels I want for mine!

Anyhoo - a marmite choice by me:

would look a bit silly on a C-class though. Might just get away with it on an SL though.
I've seen them on most of the VAG stuff at some point. More often than not, cheap copies that look nasty.

I think you could probably get away with them on the AMG stuff, but as per the title, it's a OEM wheel selection for the SLR wink

My old car a clk320, I thought they looked ok for an aftermarket rim.

These, definitely. Would be better with a proper BBS badge though.

Probably won't be to everyone's taste, but these do it for me, especially attached to a mad XJS:

Those are awesome wheels, looked into getting a set for my XJS but they are super rare.

Have Alpina ever put wheels on a car that does not look right? (Genuine question... because every time I see an Alpina car I just think, wow)

That car has the Lux package so 19" wheels over the standard 18".

Always thought both car and especially wheel looked great.

Suit the 197 Clio too.

Another one where both car and wheel combination look great apart but together are perfect.

And another, only on another level price wise and performance wise.

Personally I'd say these are the worst Alpina wheels they've ever done and suit nothing.

They are also too big for the application. The brakes on the Alpina Roadster are off the 3.0 Z4 and the brakes look tiny compared to the 19 inch rim IMO.

My vote goes for Minilites and original slotmags.

Allow me to nominate these as the best looking aftermarket items in my book. Kleemann TS6's. I like the looks but mostly I like vortexes they make when it's raining smile

Just the right amount of dish to them.
