Just been on an Advanced driving forum looking around and found some links to a drivers' videos in which he is supposedly 'outing' bad driving.

In the first link we see a Range Rover driver suposedly making a mistake:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p92EVndtYM&lis...

And in this link, a BM driver supposedly making the same error:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQVWI_bfuks&ind...

Now IMO it's the 'Advanced' driver who is at fault, and quite badly.

IMO he should be stopping a car length BEFORE his driveway, causing the following driver to stop at that point, then moving towards the centre line to make his intentions clear before beginning the reversing manouvre, instead of going past the driveway and expecting the follower to know that his intention is to reverse into the driveway behind.

First he exhibits very bad form then posts these videos on YT to make out the other driver is at fault.

Completely agree. Pretty certain he must do this on purpose, to try and get views on YouTube. As you have stated, how was the drivers following supposed to know what the recorders intentions are? He makes no effort to allow the car behind him to leave a big enough gap.

I'd have to agree - but without seeing when the "advanced" driver indicates it's hard to tell. I'd be inclined to pull up and wait for the cars behind to pass before starting to reverse.

I think he's assuming that other drivers on the road are telepathic.

Noticeable that in the first one the recorder has muted the sound until he is reversing, so you can't tell when he starts to indicate either.

I reverse on to my drive. I am firmly of the opinion that the traffic moving along the main road in both directions has priority over my manoeuvre, so I pull in with a left indicator just past my driveway, wait until the following traffic has passed me and its clear in both directions and then back on to the drive.

This clown seems to be expecting following drivers to be reading his mind and then acting nobbish when they misunderstand his signal and position.

OP, do you have a link to the forum / thread where this was posted?

Even although the others may make mistakes, he seems to be deliberately making a point of not making allowances for others mistakes.

Surely part of being an advanced driver is to anticipate the errors of others? There's nothing in his videos which you couldn't see coming, nor have avoided imho

I can't stand 'Advanced' drivers whinging about things like this online. They're just complaining for the sake of complaining.

And yes, I am an 'Advanced' driver myself. No, I do not go anywhere near the meetings! heheeek

He's a plonker. One of those saddos trying to catch out other drivers' "imperfect" driving but only managing to show off his utter incompetence.

My sentiment entirely, IMO he isn't making his intentions anywhere near clear enough.

Presumably he indicated in plenty of time to pull in to the left, but I have no idea how he expected the person behind to know he was going to reverse up into the driveway rather than just stop where he was.
I also reverse into my drive and wouldn't dream of just stopping then starting to reverse with someone there.

There's very little advanced about what he's doing there. There's no way that the rangey could have anticipated that move. And you can hear him getting agitated which is the last thing any advanced driver should do. I'm not a huge fan of the holier than thou attitude of some (not all) IAM people but I think this should be played at his local group. They'd him to shreds.

That's not gonna happen, the guy's the chairman!

Funny that this didn't get picked up on the forum where he advertises his videos, but then it doesn't surprise me, they only pat each other on the back and tell each other how great they are.

What a self righteous, miserable old bd.

ETA: And yes I'd say he's at fault. Obviously didn't look in his mirror because if he did he'd have seen that the cars are too close to begin reversing.

Basically he stops and then reverses expecting everyone else to move out of his way t***er. He should have waited for the cars to pass then reversed.
