Sorry if this is getting repetitive, but I'm enjoying seeing cars that I'd forgotten about brought back to my screen! Following on from the other threads, you will buy it from a show room now and it will be brand spanking new. Having been born in 1973, I'll go with a Ford Capri RS2600 as my DD (and then a 911 RSR for the weekend)...

1962, which was a terrible choice: 1963 would have given me a much wider choice.
But from 1962, if I could afford it, a Bristol 407

Or with a lower budget, a Citroen DS. Which, astonishingly, was already in its 7th year by 1962.

Mk2 Escort RS1800, apparently produced until 1980.

As a daily from 1979

Lotus Sunbeam

Or if my past baby self had a shorter commute to nursery, an Esprit JPS

I picked that in the 1980 thread only to be slapped down and told that it ceased production in 1978 wink

1984, so some pretty good choices out there. The Testarossa came out, the 911 3.2 Carrera appeared and in the States they got a new Corvette, the C4. A year too early for an E30 M3 or E28 M5 though, sadly.

I think for an actual daily driver, I'd be tempted by a royal blue metallic BMW M635CSi. Unwieldy name, gorgeous car. Not a supercar or even a famously amazing drive, but for driving every day and being a decade to late for a 240z, this'll do nicely.

I'm going with the "stock possibly still available at dealers" excuse.

Or substitute an RS2000.

What a commuter, what would your weekend car be?

None.

Cars in 1972 were primitive, unreliable rustbuckets.

If I'd been born in the late '80s or '90s then maybe. Just bought a '93 BMW 325i.
