Hi folks,

Toying with the idea of trading my M135i in for two abarths - one for me and the other for the wife. I was just wondering what the potential is for securing a significant discount if I did go down this route.

A standard 500 is £13300 (saving £900 on list)

A 595 is £17500 (saving £3217 on list)

Given that the above new cars are already discounted would you say there is much scope for securing more off or am I in dream land?

I think Fiat asking over £20k is dream land.

It's a panda with different panels, basically a £6k car.

And that's what it feels like inside.

Aren't 500s the slowest depreciating cars in their class ? In which case, scope for a further reduction in the RRP might be limited. 20,000 female estate agents can't be wrong. Lol.

I think they are overpriced myself but I like the look of them. I don't for a minute expect BMW quality so under no illusions in that respect. The bmw was more than double the price. I like the look of them, they sound good, are quite economical and would give me and my other half a car each whilst still having something I can have some fun in.

Really? The interior of the 500 is great, looks far better than its rivals, and that's including cars that have been realised after it like the Adam.

Its light an airy with a more of quality feel than any hatchback I've been in.

Have you only been in 90s corsas and fiestas before?

Interior not too shabby although the door cards look particularly plasticy. Not any worse than my corsa vxr or clio 197 from years gone by I wouldn't say.

Exterior-wise, I prefer the campovolo grey paint myself.

No, the last car I was in that was in the 500s class was the Adam.

Far better than it in terms of quality and aesthetics.

The same for the modern fiesta, 2004/5 swift, modern corsa and Aygo.

You must be in minority, Ive heard loads of people rave about the interior.

The 500c abarth is the coolest car around today IMO.

I kind of agree. There is an old guy that lives near me, must be in his 80s, drives a 695 Tributo. Never seen him do more than 20mph but it is such a cool cars.

I'd love one of the 595 Biposto cars.

Currently have a hire 500, the interior is really. Really, poor. It's a hire car with 8k miles and falling apart.

I think the housing scheme comment is unfair however.

Sorry, was supposed to be tongue in cheek wink

If you are serious, go into a "decent" Fiat dealership, find someone who knows their stuff, and explain exactly what you want. Any decent salesman should bite your hand off...

Good luck.

I might try Abarth Glasgow at the weekend - at least to have a nosey at the car in the metal.

I'm not sure what there is to 'get'. They're nippy, tiny and not too common.

Matching his and her's fiat 500s, how lovely
what are you going to do when the babies start popping out?

i personally can not see the point in having 2 of the same car in one household

I reckon they are big enough in the back for baby seats, no? My neighbour fits one in her tt without too much of an issue.

I guess they'd have to probably scrap them, burn them or push them into the reservoir?

There is literally nothing else I could think they'd be able to do with them.
