Is it required for mot. 2003 vintage Seat 1.9tdi. (Mapped)

Yep, cats and DPFs both have to remain if originally fitted.

You can find the info on the DPFs quite easily, but I did find a Govt. release mentioning the cat on a diesel too.

Yep. If the car originally had one fitted, it must be fitted to pass the MOT.

You only need a cat if the number plate has an anagram of 'cat' in. So something like SE53 AAB wouldn't, but TR53 ACT would.

if it's mapped it's fine, just tell the mot tester and he'll bring out the PH mot manual instead
