Do UK petrolheads really have as many class/image issues with cars as PH makes it seem? Who cares what people think your car looks like, if you like it that is what matters.

All these boy racer/q car comments make me glad to be in the US, land of innapropriate muscle cars, ridiculous pick ups, and all else. While they may not be the right cars for me, there seems to be a lot less judgement passed on others.

If you want subtle there are a lot of other options. But there is nothing wrong with some people wanting some flash/something different for their car's asthetics.

It would appear so wouldn't it!? People seem to be more concerned about what people might think of them, than actually enjoying what they drive. Being a concept, if Honda carry much of the way that car looks into production and the engine is nearly as good as previous Type-R engines, I will buy one.

If an Evo 9 can get good stopping power inside 17's then i'm sure Honda could manage it too, maybe 18's if you want a bit more space? But 20's is unnecessary, that's the realm of Ferrari size callipers. When my type R had 18's the tyres were £120 a corner for good rubber, the optional 19's were over double that, so it's an easy way of keeping running costs sensible. £460 for a new set of boots is manageable for most, £1000 will hurt.
Last set of tyres to fit 19" wheels I purchased where £720 for four (235/35 mich PSS) so prices for 19"s have dropped in the past few years quite considerably. However I do agree that optional 20" wheels seem unnecessary, I'm not sure if the picture is of the 19" or 20" but the calliper and disc look lost behind the wheels particularly at the back.
TBH, knowing the type to buy CTRs, I doubt they'll run with the standard wheels for long. A nice set of RAYS 18" would look the mutts on that (in my eyes) and would be a much better wheel (ie. lighter). I'd imagine, like most manufacturers, the standards wheels aren't of the flyweight variety.

It does amaze me, as state above, just how image concious people really are! Life is much more fun when you forget about that and just enjoy yourself! Looks are subjective I know, but too much thought is put into what others would think of you if you drove XXXX. Well, for anyone that does get one, I'll give you a big thumbs up!
