As many of us do after Shed of the week, I got straight on the ads to look out for older, cheap Mercs and found this gem.Not the car but the interior!
Each to their own but I couldn't live with this interior. Let's see your entries for, What were they thinking? Thanks

The Porsche with the chequed Tombstones above is all kinds of awesome! I'd love to get into an interior like that!

I've often had similar thoughts about Porsche interior, even contemporary ones. You can have it all black/grey which looks OK but dull, or you can choose a puke tan or menstrual red colour, which may be OK in parts to off-set the black/grey, but no; if you choose the colour option, THE WHOLE INTERIOR is puke tan or menstrual red.

Similarly there are a few S2000s out there that have not only the desirable red leather seats and door cards, but the whole dash, carpet, and drive tunnel is red. Womb-like driving experience imo.

agree on the Porsche's, the best bit is if you go for Red leather but want the steering wheel, dash etc to stay black they will charge you for a full red leather interior then charge you again to put the black stuff back on

Not afraid of colour at all, you may like it which is fair enough but put it this way, being honest if you were ordering this when new, would've you had that combo?

My 6 series BMW has a red leather interior. It's actually quite nice with the black dash

maybe not, but i would have definitely taken it over the dull as dishwater grey.

I think you're missing the point - most PHers would say red leather seats are not only desirable but add at least 10mph to a vehicle's top speed, but the red leather should not stray to the dash also.

Again, that's alright as there are different shades in there - its the flat monotone and downright odd colours of the interiors posted earlier that are the point.

It's just personal taste, I don't mind any of the Porsche interiors.

What about malaise are style?

That's just what I was after, lol. 1976 is one thing but that Merc is a 95.
