Things that put you off even reading a car ad?
Discussion
Lots of things that have been mentioned but I stop when I see plate will be removed when sold.
No, sort it out before you put it up for sale, I don't want to arse about whilst you get your plate taken off, it's bad enough that I will have to pay an admin charge to change it to my reg but I don't want to have to do it twice when your's gets transferred off.

"... NOT R32, R33, R34, GTR, NISMO, SPEC-V, S13, S14"
etc etc
This and even worse examples. For instance, an ad for a Golf Mk2 GTi may be branded with "not, XR3i, RS Turbo, VR6, R32". How unintelligent do they think we are if we think an advert for a Golf is actually an Escort? etc etc

Shocking, isn't it?
Also for me: capital leathers, "leathers", an describiging something as "fully loaded"; I don't even like the term but the cars its applied to never are.
I noticed this - "every available extra" - very often not the case (and not just obscure extras missing either!)Also for me: capital leathers, "leathers", an describiging something as "fully loaded"; I don't even like the term but the cars its applied to never are.

Another one, which is not as common any more; Directors Car.
Yeah, are we meant to be impressed ?Doctor owned as well, Doctors by and large seem to treat their cars like crap, my mum used to work at a surgery and my dad used to service their cars and they were all heaps, the only medical person I know is a consultant and runs a Zafira that looks like it should be in a Police evidence compound.

Price is usually the first thing I look for, and any advert that ends with 'Not £995. Real price is £9995' means I automatically ignore the car. If they can't afford to spend an extra £10 to get the correct price on Autotrader, then what else have they skimped on?
This.Instantly marks the seller out as the kind of person I simply wouldn't want to do business with.

+1 - I knew a fairly senior heart surgeon once - his MO for cars was -
1.Buy new Toyota Avensis, run until mega-miles and generally dead.
2.Go to 1 above, wasting as little time as possible, as he had absolutely zero interest in cars.
My B5 Passtit VR6 was ex-doctor (GP couple) and the interior had been savaged by their dogs.
Many moons ago a good customer of mine was a lovely chap who happened to be consultant at an Oxford hospital. Drove a current plate Porsche 928 that still rates as the single most disgustingly kept car I have ever seen. The interior was full of rubbish. Literally. If you wanted to get in the passenger seat, you would have had to clear a space for your feet.
Advertising a member of the medical profession as a former keeper hasn't really done it for me since then either.

Funnily enough, I accompanied a friend to buy a Dr. owned A3 1.8T Sport once. That car was falling to bits. Every week he would tell me about another issue. It was the only one for sale within 100 miles at the time and he was desperate for a car.
Never again would I buy Dr. owned!
It's like people who think that 1 Lady Owner is a selling point!

Years back I took in a Granada estate as unseen swapper.......the number of animal body parts found throughout the car was truly horrific..........needless to say it went straight to auction.....
WOW!!!!!!, L@@k, AMAZING/RARE, like/not various totally unrelated cars.
Generally if the advert looks like it has been written by a mentally subnormal 7yr old then I can't bring myself to read it. If that's how they write then their actual presence is likely to be unbearable. All capitals, massive font sizes, stupid text colours that have to be highlighted before you can see them all put me off.
If it is a private seller I would never bother going to see a car with any of the above in the listing as the owner is clearly an overgrown amoeba, if it's a trader I might as the car could still be good despite the tttery of the trader though I would look at others in preference.

"No offers"
Fair enough mate, but expect, no calls, no viewings and no sale then.
Not really true. If the price is set correctly and the car is as described, then they probably don't want a procession of people turning up and making low offers.Fair enough mate, but expect, no calls, no viewings and no sale then.
I've bought a car in this way and my son sold a car doing this too. His car was bought over the phone from someone over 500 miles away.
