Ours was fine - but air con did the job got down to 5 degrees under max chill. So to me it does its job - tongue in cheek it has excellent indicators. Cup holders put in a coke bottle and its top heavy its cheap plastic and is seriously flimsy. Compare that to the E90 BMW really good quality and took said coke bottle with ease. And it gripped it too.

I did consider it but I've owned 1 before, was 1 of the best handling cars I've driven, a lot of fun. I am tempted but I wanted something I haven't had before, may take a look and see if I can stretch to a trophy!Op, have you considered a Clio 182? Reviews are by professionals who can take a 4wd wrx sti and drift it around a track at 100 whilst racing an evo. I'm sure the lack of interior quality is also well documented!Just all very backwards. My opinion is that on road a decent hot hatch is more enjoyable, part of this is the fact that the limit is lower and you can enjoy the car more at a more street friendly speed.
If I was after a track car then top of my list would be either an E36 m3 or an Evo but I'm not after a track car and I'm after a fun car that looks good and feels well built.

Try an E46 M3 that's way better than the E90
Try the Ariel Atom
Try a 911 Turbo
Try an RS6
I think the Cupra R does look good Mk2 great alloys amd in Grey a nice looking car.
Audi TT 225 is not the best handling car tbh as it's based on a MkIV Golf platform.
But they can be made a lot better at little expense.
The 1.8T VAG engine is VERY tunable and it's a great car to spend time in, comfortable and stylish and well built.
Definitely NOT a hairdressers car tbh as they are a car to drive hard and feel heavy.
Brilliant 4WD Haldex for grip in the dry and traction on slippery roads (mine was awesome in snow even on summer tyres).
They don't feel as quick as they actually are as they are a bit slow off the line but the turbo kicks in nicely and gives a great "shove".
But they can be made a lot better at little expense.

I meant the Clio 182I've owned one for 3-4 years along side a number of other cars. Put it this way it simply cannot even begin to compare to an E90 M sports handling its a different league of handling.

OP needs to elaborate on his requirements...purely fun driving or care about image etc? I wouldn't be going for a TT for the former.
RE: the Impreza vs hot hatch debate...I had a Xsara VTS and an Impreza and the Xsara was every bit as much fun despite me being no fan of FWD. That isn't insulting the Impreza as the Xsara was bloody brilliant. Imprezas and Evos are very effective ways of going fast but a genuinely good (i.e. not VAG) hot hatch chassis can be just as lively to drive.
As it turned out the MK1 MX5 I had alongside was more fun than both despite it's mere 128bhp though! That's the only one I still own.

I suppose my original requirements were very vague. I'm after a weekend car thats fun to drive and looks good and isn't very common. As i buy and sell cars I usually have a few cars which i can use that fit the usual requirements so I don't have a need to 5 seats or a big boot but i do like hot hatchbacks hence why i short listed the Cupra R...
I had an old 1.8 MX5 with a LSD, a lot of fun but i only had it for a few weeks.
Hmmm....if you're after a hot hatch then there are plenty of options, but I don't really see how any of those mentioned tick the boxes for rarity or being particularly exciting to look at. I realise that latter point is a case of personal taste, but short of a Clio V6, or a mk1 Focus RS I really cannot think of a modern hatch that stands out aesthetically. Unless they're painted in some kind of lurid colour they tend to blend in with everything else on the road.
As for the Cupra R, I've not owned or driven one myself but 2 friends had there's at the same time and moved them on as soon as funds allowed. They're one of the more handsome hatches of that era but pretty unremarkable. If it were my money, I'd probably be looking at RX8s, and Alfa GTVs.

I used to have a tuned impreza turbo and I completely agree. The impreza was very quick and grip was amazing but that also made it too easy to go very fast everywhere. The Cupra R does not have much steering feedback and can be a little wallowy through tight corners but it is quite easy to provoke some lift off oversteer which makes things a lot more interesting (as Tiff demonstrates beautifully in the above video, which I would urge you to watch if you haven't already done so as it shows the competitors as well)
The difficulty you have is whether to go for an EP3 CTR which also sit around this price point. It all depends how you prefer your power delivered and if you need 3 or 5 doors. I needed 5 and I like turbos hence why I got the Cupra.
