Used Car Sales Lulz
Discussion
My Dad part-exed his A-Class to a local Nissan dealer. It had the gearbox repaired previously and gone kaput again showing F (Fault Mode) in the display and stuck in limphome/thir gear. The dealer priced it at £3,500 without the fault and £1,500 with. A fair price either way.
It was entered into auction who declared the fault before bids. Bought by a Londoner who wrote my Dad a letter complaining. Dad for some reason wrote back and declined all liability. The guy wrote back and said he would screw my Dad over with speeding camera fines and congestion fines by not changing the V5.
And over the next few months he received 4 speeding notices and 64 Congestion Charge London liabilities. I completed a third party authorisation correspondence form to act on behalf of my Dad and sent a copy of the threat letter and dealer invoice showing the date of change of ownership. Always wondered what happened to the guy.

My dad had a similar experience.
Back in the day he had an XR3 which started to develop rust, so he chopped it in at a Ford main dealer for a newer car.
A few months later the next owner contacts my dad wanting money for bodywork repairs. The main dealer had actually sold it on for top money, but were refusing to take any responsibilty for the state of the bodywork as it was like that when they sold it.

Likely he passed due to terminal stupidity. It was entered into auction who declared the fault before bids. Bought by a Londoner who wrote my Dad a letter complaining. I love the fact the bloke followed through with his threat! It was entered into auction who declared the fault before bids. Bought by a Londoner who wrote my Dad a letter complaining.
