If you have to ask, you have doubts. If you are loaded, replace it. If you can't afford a high speed blowout, replace it. Easy. Just look on it like insurance, necessary evil.
Another way to look on it, imagine when on a spirited hoon, getting pulled up by plod. He was going to let you off with a b
king, but now he's going to give you a ticket for speeding and maybe one for defective tyre.

I'd be very careful, I was pulled over for having a dirty number plate (!!?) 3 years ago or so in a courtesy car whilst the TVR was in the shop, and got a fixed penalty and 3 points for very similar damage. I disagreed and they took me to magistrates court who upped the fine considerably and upheld the points , my appeal was eventually held up in the High Court and costs awarded but the whole thing was a royal pain in the ass.
