A light hearted thread for this evening.

What option/ feature on a car signifies if a person has 'made it' in life?

You know you've made it when... You've got leather headlining.

Over to you.
You've got a d-badged BM with M stickers on finance and after market DRLs

When I was 20 I got up at 8am to get to work at 8:30 left at 5pm earned bugger all and had a laugh. Now I'm a lot older I leave the house at 5am work long hours but get very well rewarded. By most most terms I've sort of made it, but I used to have it made wink

Simple. When you get in the back of something sublime (oy, stop sniggering at the back) and the door is opened for you.

Thoughts of showing off or rubbing others' noses in it don't even enter your mind and you use your wealth to help others instead.

I hate it when people refer to certain cars as "having status", or other such crap, and spend too much time obsessing about what others think. This is why interesting, intelligent quirky and unusual cars are often sales failures. Buy the car YOU like.

According to most PH threads on wealth you have made it when you have a stty clapped out car but could afford a better one. If you have money and spend it on a car you are pretty much a failure. Or something like that, I lose track.

Ding Ding Ding!!!

IMO, you've made it when you drive something which you really can't afford to run and maintain, but, to Hell with it, you drive it anyway.

Surely being on the wrong side for RHD cars makes it count extra as it is more suicidal?laugh

I used to think a vinyl roof and ideally Ghia badges were symbols of having made it (showing my age there) but now maybe a 114d M-Sport with 18 inch wheels or an A3 S-line with the 1.6 diesel engine are what the non-PH audience aspire to.

For me my latest always makes me feel like I am where I always wanted to be - naturally aspirated straight 6, manual gearbox, 2 doors, 2 seats, RWD and 265 BHP. What's not to like?driving

A holiday home and a nice car, that will do for me. Oh and a work horse diesel mondeo that I don't give a Fk about.
