Hi all, I'm new around here but I need some guidance in choosing a car.

I currently have the lowish mileage Corsa D CDTI with an intermittent fault with it's engine and power delivery (and no-one seems to be able to detect or fix it). Also I find it gives me chronic lower back pain on journeys longer than 10 miles.

So I'm looking to trade this in and get something else. I've been offered on average between £2300-3000 for mine as a trade in, and I can afford to but in another £5000-6000 so that gives me a budget of about £9000.

I've been looking at mainly the Alfa Romeo range (mainly the Brera and GT) because although they're probably not the most reliable of cars (as I'm sure people will point out) but I want something that's fun to drive, something with a bit of poke, comfortable seats (lumbar support would be ideal) and a bit different from the usual Ford, Vauxhall, Toyota etc norm.

Something with a diesel engine would be preferred due to the mileage I do. Also preferably a hatchback or coupe design (nothing Mondeo/Insignia sized as it'll just be mainly me and my future girlfriend).

Thanks smile

Seat Leon? I prefer the Mk1, so a diesel version of one of those would leave you plenty of change. However this newer model is £6k-

One of these perhaps? . Not very many coupes available at your budget (hatchback being a bit common if you want something different).

A lot of choice at that budget.
