Watch the Rapide prices tumble.
Given the fact they say it'll be a middle-east-only super-exclusive, I doubt it.

Seriously Aston, why? What a big 2-fingers to your home market irked
And the fact this will be priced considerably higher then the Rapide means it would have no effect on it's sales or residuals even if it were available world wide. I just hope they don't make the same mistake as they did with the One-77. That should have been been built to demand allowing it to be sold at a lot lower price point rather than the small numbers it was. They could have called it, oh I don't know, the "Vanquish" lets say. Aston would then be able to say that they were producing the best, most technically advanced GT car in the world (debatable I know but it would be a hell of a lot better than the DB9 with a body kit Vanquish we have now) I don't see the point in Aston making a very good car if it isn't going to make them the class leader. None of their cars are the best you can get at the moment and they should be

Or just not type approved in Europe, hence no official CO2 emmisions rating.

First thing that flashed through my mind when I saw the first photo it that it looked more than a wee bit like a 159Ti around wheel arches with those alloys on, though with cleaner lines radiating of them. Rear? more than a nod towards Americana there.

I like it though the nose shot does rather put me in mind of that Ford concept car they put out a while back.

I agree. You wouldn't recognise at as an Aston in your rear view mirror...

I'm so glad they've gone with a bold design instead of some concept car/spaceship look.

This is quite a blunder. Its nearly as bad as when the window tinters posted a pic of the yet unreleased Range Rover Sport!

Indeed it is a Lagonda not an Aston.
Love it.

Though I can see some of the 70's car in spirit at the back, this has nowhere near the impact of that car.

Not only could you hear it a mile off, but your first reaction on seeing it at the time was more "Jesus Christ just look at that thing!" than "Oooh I quite like that", which this one has.

For it's intended market I'd have thought they're after more of the former.

One of these drove past me at Gaydon a couple of weeks ago….looked like a spaceship from the front. Very, very imposing car. I wasn't sure what it was until I looked in the mirror, unmistakably Aston at the rear. Really was a beautiful thing.

Wouldn't like to try and park it in Britain though.

looks to me like the DB9 Zagato from a while back

wonder if zagato had anything to do with the lagonda, or if aston took some inspiration

the bit above the rear wheel arch reminds me of the recent bmw 6 series

Me too. I think it looks great, and a far better 4 seat propostion than the Rapide S. Love to see a version marketed to Europe to compete with the Flying Spur etc

Why was the One-77 a mistake? They sold them all at list price. Made the company a lot of money. This will be similar, small numbers, exclusive, high price tag.
