I also think this looks good and I guess they are now going after the Bentley market. I think on looks alone they are doing a good job and I'm guessing this will get the S65 AMG's V12 Biturbo engine and seven speed auto.
biggrin
It looks unlike any other current Aston which is interesting, but I think there's a bit of the latest Ford Mondeo front and Dodge Challenger roof/rear in it? That's not a bad thing. I'm pleased it doesn't look like the old Lagonda because I didn't like that.

Watch the airlines scrabble to be the New Aston Martin logistics supplier tomorrow when Air Oman is oddly dropped from their role... muppets.
I suspect Air Oman is being called "Air Onanist" in the Aston factory. Or at least a slang derivative.

Looks awesome, perfect for the Arab nations. Fingers crossed they sell loads to help fund new versions of the core Vantage and DB models.

Surprised by the positive reaction on here. Looks odd to my eyes. And why only ME? Although if it is as large as it looks then likely too big for UK roads.

This is quite a blunder. Its nearly as bad as when the window tinters posted a pic of the yet unreleased Range Rover Sport!
Hardly a blunder, since it was already revealed by Aston, for all to see, a month ago.

looks to me like the DB9 Zagato from a while back

wonder if zagato had anything to do with the lagonda, or if aston took some inspiration

the bit above the rear wheel arch reminds me of the recent bmw 6 series

Oooft, those are stunning.

Hmmm ..... not sure about that. Where are the curves? Seems to be harking back to the 80s.
And where's the AM grille? Looks more like a pastiche of the Mazda MX6.
If this is the design direction we can expect from Aston for the DB9 replacement then I don't see a rosy future.

It is badged a LAGONDA, not an Aston Martin, hence no Aston signature grille.

And the fact this will be priced considerably higher then the Rapide means it would have no effect on it's sales or residuals even if it were available world wide. I just hope they don't make the same mistake as they did with the One-77. That should have been been built to demand allowing it to be sold at a lot lower price point rather than the small numbers it was. They could have called it, oh I don't know, the "Vanquish" lets say. Aston would then be able to say that they were producing the best, most technically advanced GT car in the world (debatable I know but it would be a hell of a lot better than the DB9 with a body kit Vanquish we have now) I don't see the point in Aston making a very good car if it isn't going to make them the class leader. None of their cars are the best you can get at the moment and they should be
Why was the One-77 a mistake? They sold them all at list price. Made the company a lot of money. This will be similar, small numbers, exclusive, high price tag.
Because the technology/standards used for the One-77 should have been used on a mainstream model not a very limited edition thus giving the "Vanquish" a chance of being the very best in class and pushing Aston forward ahead of the competition not constantly lagging behind. All of the One-77's highlights can be had at a lot lower price point (carbon tubs, inboard dampers, Hand beaten aluminium, exotic materials etc), it brought absolutely nothing new to the table at it's price point and building it in such low numbers doesn't make it special by itself I'm afraid. Has the One-77 moved Aston forward in any shape or form?? Has any of it's design features been passed down?? Build 2000-5000 of them at £250,000 and you'd make more money and have the best car in it's sector and one that would pave the way for all future Astons

Exactly. Its a Lagonda. Embrace the wedge. Don't fight it, let it wash over you...

Given the fact they say it'll be a middle-east-only super-exclusive, I doubt it.

Seriously Aston, why? What a big 2-fingers to your home market irked
Agreed. I have absolutely no idea who came up with that nonsense idea.
