PH never fails on the reverse snobbery stakes.

So people who for whatever reason drive a white diesel Audi are badge snobs and just doing it to impress people, but you can't see the irony that is actually you who cares about image more than them!

I personally wouldn't buy a white Audi diesel but neither would I berate anyone that does, why would I unless I know them how would I know why they are driving it. The one person I do know that drives one is because it's a company car - what a knob eh!

Surprised on a car site their is so much bitterness aimed at a company who make an effort to make decent driving cars.
Probably because the company in question puts most of its effort into a few halo models to sell lots of the models it puts sod all effort into.

It is not always jealousy driven. I dislike Audi's in general, the only 2 I like is the RS6 and the R8, and when I see them I think "nice car" I also now think "got some balls to drive a garish Audi these days" as most are driven poorly. Whereas Something like Fiat, or Nissan or BMW or even Mercedes, you get the bad cars, and you get the bad drivers, but I would rather own a Daewoo or a Smart than an Audi. Does that make me jealous of people who do? No. It's up to them what they drive, but I'm not one. I'm secretly jealous of people who own Maserati Quattroporte's, not measily Audi's.
Really? If you had to hire a car and the hire company only had an Audi and a Smart Car or an old Daewoo left you would turn down the Audi because of some judgment you've made about the kind of people who drive them? I'd sooner drive the nice car. You see all kinds of cars being driven badly and probably don't notice the many more being driven well because they have no impact on you. You latch onto a stereotype perpetuated by people like Jeremy Clarkson and every time you encounter a badly driven Audi it confirms it in your mind. I find it more accurate to judge people on their understanding of apostrophe use.

As has been pointed out they could buy the same car in skoda guise and save thousands or they could have a better performance car for the same money, but they have bought the audi to portray an image which is why I think they are cocks,
To be fair though, there are only 2 Audis that have a 'same car equivalent' in the Skoda brand, and that is the A3 and Q3.

The A1 and Fabia are on different platforms.
The A3 and new TT share a platform with the Octavia.
The Q3 shares a platform with the Yeti.
The Q7 shares a platform with the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne, but no Skodas.

The A4, A5, Q5, A6, A7 and A8 don't share platforms with any cars that don't also wear an Audi badge, with the exception of the Porsche Macan.

A MINI hatch can have some class if you leave off the tasteless graphics and I'm not a fan of any of the other vehicles in the MINI range but can see a point to most of them but with these two (coupe and Paceman), seriously wtf?

Top picture graphics are like the GT3 RS ones

Having said that, if you want stickers on your car, why would you care what anyone else thinks

Technically all the same 'platform' scaled up/down, and eventually all VAG products will use it.

And I'm sorry but I have to agree that a 'me too' white Audi show no class. The fact that it is a popular choice makes this an unpopular statement, but following the herd doesn't make someone right.

Being classy means being a little avant-garde.

I would have thought their mainstream models - the 3 series and 5 series are pretty much best in class?

Or do you think that just happened by luck?

An Audi A3 in a dark metallic with standard alloys looks classy; a white A3 with oversized polished black wheels looks about as classy as a pink stretch limo.

Silver C-Class Merc with the smallest engine, poverty spec except for black leather, and a cheap private plate.

Anything with a matt paint job. Car, bike, it doesn't matter as it all looks tacky.

Possibly the worst motoring related craze this decade.

No.

Even more so with that! A wannabe *cool* car that fails by being an Estate - synonymous with Family Man / DIY Hobbyist.

The lesser models are also usually the best in class to drive.

They are never going to make a £20k M3, but they do still make cars that are pretty good to drive considering. The best cars all have very expensive parts to make it a great car and that can't happen at lower prices.

Most people want smaller economical engines, so 318/320s will always be the popular choice, but the option is there for those who want more to get it too.

BMW seem to be bowing down to pressure as Audi were stealing their customers. They are now becoming very active in the 4wd market as that seems to be what a lot of customers want, or think they need. Even the 4wd cars are supposed to be pretty good.

A lot of people just seem to slate them for no obvious reason. They certainly don't deserve a lot of the nonsense that is spouted out.

They always seem to be driven by people trying to be something they aren't - ie moneyed - when in reality they're probably on finance. Hide the age with a cheap plate, who cares about the engine, just get silver and leather so we look rich!
