I'm thinking of Get Carter, one of the few things that was carried over from the original book.

Looking at the rear wheel arches of that Mk2, I can see where Weismann got their inspiration from.

It's growing on me and I'm pleased he didn't go too far away from the original.

Like a lot of cars it may well be more successful in the flesh.

John Surtees in the passenger seat seems to like it.

I love it, the fact he's designed for himself too, I really like the fact you can tell that this isn't the standard shape and look he'd design to appeal to a mass of potential customers but just gone for something that appeals to his personal taste.
We're in a minority here, but I think it looks great. Yes, the front spoiler treatment is a bit odd, but it's a good modern take on a classic saloon otherwise.

Abomination, the original design/styling can not be bettered, no matter what the current style/trend dictates...shark grilles, spoilers, vents, lamps, fancy interior trim, big rims and low profile rubber.
Seen similar treatment for the MK 2 in Custom Car, Street Machine and Hot car magazines thirty years ago, still if you've got an itch......

Overall I like it, but I wonder what it would have looked like on Minilite/Panasport-type wheels, maybe 16s rather than the 17s.

I like it, I just think the wheels are an inch too big and the step from the front apron is probably a little too deep.

I really like that, the interior is a bit bright for me, a dark burgundy would be better. Overall, a great looking and no doubt driving car. I wouldn't expect the purists to like it, no surprise, they don't. A modern day hot rod MK2, love it, as others have said, a 4 door Weismann.

I thought Callum couldn't get it wrong, love his designs.

What was he smoking when he commissioned this.
I agree, it's hideous, and another Mk2 ruined.... IMHO of course.

Oh, and to the person who wrote the original article....a small correction is needed...

It's not a 1932 Ford Model T, it's a Model B (the T went out of production in 1927)

I didn't think I would see a poor design from the man that provided me my Vanquish, I was wrong.

This design is not bold enough, there is certainley more to be done to a standard MK2 to improve its looks, performance and driving experience.

Beacham do it better, go south young man go south.
Beacham are a decent company but they certainly don't produce anything approaching the quality of this car.

If you think their "restored" Mk2 fitted with a "modern" Jaguar interior and running gear is the way to go then I have to disagree.

As I've already commented I'm not totally convinced with Callums design, but then it's always going to be down to personal preferences.

What I do like is that he's retained the heart of the car, the XK engine, and updated rather than replaced the interior and the rest of the car.

With independent rear suspension, improved steering and so on it's the way I would take the Mk2.

I would have gone with a smaller Mk.1 style grill and split bumpers like an XK.

Not sure about this. Interesting he prefers to "update" a MkII rather than "update" one of his own S-types.
