Geoff Lawson designed the S type not Callum
Did someone claim that Callum designed the S-Type?

West Coast customs would love it. I'm left somewhat cold. I like the idea of classics that use modern tech so that they are more reliable and usable, but not when the original aesthetics are butchered.

So is it a one off?
If so why invite the "VIP Jaguar" owners and the press?
Write up pretty unclear whether this is a personal vanity project or testing the water for something more.
Designed by Callum for Callum is made quite clear.

I think the car unveiling was linked with the opening of CMC'c new premises, hence the attendance of the press and John Surtees. Car launch just gave it a bit more interest I imagine.

Short video clip here where he explains his "motives".

Overall I like it, but I wonder what it would have looked like on Minilite/Panasport-type wheels, maybe 16s rather than the 17s.
My thinking exactly! Metallic BRG on graphite Minilites with a Charcoal or Black leather interior without that stupid screen thing & it would be just perfect in my eyes....!!

As a huge Vanquish fan and hence fan of Ian Callum's design work, I have to say this doesn't look that well resolved.
I've got to agree, sadly.

I've had the pleasure of working with Ian Callum, and although his design wasn't always exactly to my tastes, he generally got it right and he has penned some stunning work over the years.

I hate to say it, but this just looks dreadful.

It's fair enough if it is just for him, but the fact that there was 'an event' to launch it (however relaxed and low-key), suggests otherwise. frown

The lamps and associated brightwork on that front end are delightfully excessive. Well done.
