I should imagine that the show is a bit of a millstone for the salesmen at his showrooms - every customer would be trotting out his catchphrases and wanting amazing deals. "Haha, sir. I've never heard that one before."

I think it's a great show and certainly far far better than that one with the ignorant and offensive Bernie bloke in it.

It's clear they both have a passion for cars and getting future classics back on the road which, to me, is what it's all about. Some of the earlier shows had a few dubious choices in, such as the van he had wrapped and turned into a "camper", but in the main, I think they choose some great cars and do a pretty good job of them. I do think they should sometimes have a bit more attention to detail on some of the cars, like tidying up the engine bays, but hey, it's probably inspired a few of us to get stuck in and have a bash at doing something up.

So, Mr Brewer, if you are reading this, keep up the good work, it's a great show and well done for getting some neglected old classics back on the road.

Took me a few seconds to get that biggrin

I love the show along with American Hot Rod, The Garage, A car is born, and all the others. I wish there were more car programs on TV.
Have you seen Motortrend Roadkill on YouTube yet? It's great!

I'd take Wheeler Dealers over the US car shows any time. They are 99% fake.

I love WD, I was a bit dubious about Mike when I started watching but it wouldn't be the same without him. I wish the shows were longer spending more time looking at the oily bits. Ed is a hero.

The other car restoration shows are too contrived with arguments and disasters.

I'm looking forward to the new series.

While the maths is optimistic, the knowledge of what to look out for on a used car, and the simple fixes you could do at home are generally what I like to see.

I love WD - it's always been consistent. By that I mean that Mike and Ed never play up too much to the cameras, but keep it pretty low key. Compare that to the US shows, Fast 'n' Loud especially, where the show has morphed into making it about themselves and how great they are, and the cars take a back seat to their egos.

It is an institution now, and it is properly, and unapologetically British, cant even begin to estimate how many saturdays have been wasted watching it, usually ones I have seen before as well.

New series next week as well.

I bet Mike Brewer hates these threads, I know I would have to look, some people are very rude about him, someone just called him fat and Ed Scruffy, it is quite amusing watching back to back episodes where he gains or loses a couple of stone during a five minute ad break and Eds hair changes colour.

I think it's lost its way a bit lately. Car SOS with Fuzz Townsend is a far superior programme.

The first time I came across this programme I thought the presenter was Reg Varney.

I shared a smoke with Brewer (not the same smoke, obviously). Not a bad chap if a little mockney.

Understand Mike Brewer is a resident PHer, but does anybody know if Mr China is a member ?

Remember in the first few episodes of WD when Ed was repairing the Capri and the 230e Mercedes, his delivery was a tad "wooden", but now he's morphed into an eminently watchable fella. Shame he doesn't use the rattle cans as much as he used to.

Wheeler Dealers is pretty much the only reason why I am keeping my Sky subscription. Edd China is a very clever bloke, more clever than alot of people give him credit for.

The double-deck cars in Top Gear (series 11 episode 6, British v Germans) were also manufactured by him as well.

Never met him or Mike, but everyone you see who has met them always say they're stand up guys, so that bodes very well.

Definitely one of the more watchable programs on TV - looking forward to the new series!
Certainly wouldn't be the same without the Mike/Ed partnership either.

Later this year sees a new spin-off series, "Bleedin Brakes", starring garage assistant Paul

I believe it will centre on his accounts of the grittier details of Wheeler Dealers life - Edd's out of control T-shirt buying binges, rumours of a change to include £110 hourly labour rates, and the infamous 2011 debacle when Mike turned up at the garage with a new white A4 on PCP to feature in the show

Paul's much-lauded impression of "old out yer and" will surely feature too, along with a slo-mo music-backed montage of every "I've just bough a..."

Doesn't Ed China have a whole load of land speed records to his name? Fastest sofa, fastest bed sort of thing. Top bloke.

'Cumfy banana' was the name of his company I think. Agreed a top fella and so is Mike. Best car related series on TV.

Miles better than paying to watch some numpties drive around in fast cars on youtube anyway wink.
