So, for a change not a thread about the need to renew on purchase or get refunded the remaining RFL under the forth coming changes!

A question,
Is there going to be a vast increase in false plates being used on cars? At the moment anyone or especially police can take a cursory glance at the tax disc to verify the cars registration. On a more detailed check I suppose the police could run the VIN in the windscreen.
Maybe not a case of being cloned for resale but for parking and other road and traffic related offences, especially those caught on camera.
At the moment, when you are ticketed by a traffic warden they also take the details of the disc to dissprove any claim that it was not the right car and had been cloned. Will they try and photo the VIN?
Will some people just park up on false plates with the only risk being a ticket for the original cars owner, or am I missing something obvious that's in place to prevent this?? smile

Agree 100%. Also cover the VIN with a Pay & Display ticket?
