Lovely looking car, where did it all go wrong for BMW in the looks department in recent years?!

That is the proper thing, early 635cis dogleg manual and LSD, low mileage rust free - probably worth putting it on ebay Germany if you decide to sell might well reach 15,000 to 20,000 euros on a good day.

If give it to 4star and they'll list it at £50,00080,000

Wonder home many amazing cars are in secure carparks in London that are just left to decay?
I always wonder about the stoires behind them as well......
If you really want "barn finds" you need to come to America. It's really amazing how many classy old cars are put in the garage when somebody has become too infirm to drive. Many are rust free or close to it. What you really need to look out for here are perished rubber and embrittled plastics. These can be difficult to source and surprisingly expensive. Unfortunately many of these good cars end up as unfinished projects taken on by people who don't know what they're taking on, or simply lose interest and give up.

Yes, the plate came with the car, I think that a car needs have an MOT for you to be able to transfer a plate so unless the people we purchased the car off wanted to spend the time and effort or pay somebody to get it through the MOT they didn't have much of an option.

When we first got the car running Jon dropped it into Munich legends as he was passing and he knew one of the guys working there who went of the CSL home coming tour last year. He nearly wet himself as apparently he had a collector in Dubai who wanted exactly this car, colour, spec everything. He badgered us for a while to sell right upto the point we were told to name our price. But then we would have cash (although not this ^^much!) but no big 6, which would be really sad. We told him it was not for sale, end of the day were not trying to make money, I hope we are never in a situation where we need to sell as I can see me and Jon getting years of enjoyment our car.

When I saw a 6 for the first time at the Earls Court show in I'd guess 1977, even in recession brown I thought it was the best looking thing I'd ever seen - in truth not a lot has changed and I love the fact that this one has been saved!!
I just had the biggest dejavu with your comment and even thought that I was going mad for a moment thinking that I've dreamt someone saying something very similar until I found this..

Was at the Earls Court show with my dad when this launched in I'd guess 77 but probably wrong. Was in a strange brown colour but oh god I lusted so badly after that car and the interior was absolutely amazing. My dad sighed a bit as he realised he had a 100 mile trip home with a child nagging him to get rid of the Marina..... ah... happy days and a fabulous shed if only to say you had one!!
At least I know that I'm still sane.

A beautiful and unmolested example.

I would love a late 80s Highline model, in Dolphin Grey please!

What a fantastic, genuine 'barn find' story. I simply love these cars, from an era when BMW knew how to design some truly magnificent looking cars. I really can't see many of today's cars looking this good in 35 years time.

Thanks for posting fellas!

Gorgeous, wouldn't have picked white if I had a choice but it still looks great.

I went to view a 635CSI about 6 years ago and it was a rust bucket, and its carpets had been replaced with house carpets! So i declined. The person's house that I viewed the 635CSI at currently has a 240z outside it, they have taste!

There has been a gorgeous black or maroon one going around Belfast lately, only seen it at night so can't be sure of colour and it re-ignited my love for these. Certainly a rare site on the roads and rarely see them for sale!

I had a similar story but with an Alpine GTA that sat in a driveway for years around the corner from my house, I asked once if it was for sale. It was owned by the ladies son who had died and she didn't want to get rid of it. Eventually she died and the house was put up for sale and presumably the car scrapped frown
