Instead of arguing over it i'd suggest buying an older LS400, it will probably only cost you a little more than a new set of tyres for the 75. I have never heard of the 75 being the last word in ride or refinement so IMO it can be bettered.

I remember that test TG did filming a horse race from a C6 and 5 series BM - you could see the pictures from the C6.
Found it here

I propose the following challenge:

You & your expertise can reccommend me a tyre that will suit the 75. I will buy a set and put them fitted to a set of spare wheels I have. I will have them properly fitted / balanced and have 4 wheel alignment done (due a check anyway). Then we'll see if it's made a difference?

Deal?
The only way to make the car ride as well as when it left the factory is to retune the dampers to match the tyres you have.

The time to experience how this car should ride has been and gone.

So, in your opinion, there is no tyre to match, or even better the original spec tyre?

I'm afraid my BS detector is high with this one.

We're not discussing a classic from the 1950s, these are both modern cars!

It was me that started the recent citroen c5 suspenders thread.

I've had it a couple of weeks now and bloody love it. Not a single squeak, rattle or bang from anywhere.

I've had bmw e39 se, volvo v70 and saab 95s in the past, and even drove a rover 75 from Leeds to London and back once. I do think the c5 is the most comfortable car I've owned so far.

Very subjective though, you need to try one.
