The XR4 had a bespoke bodyshell with the extra side windows. The Cosworth used the same two-door hatchback body as the standard cars.
You mean they added that horrible bar on purpose?!V8forweekends said:

You know you are getting old when people say they haven't seen a Sierra before...

I can remember going to Tildesley Ford in Shifnal the day the Sierra was released with my Dad in his Cortina. He was speechless at the appearance of the Sierra.Tony (aged 61)

XR5 - Focus ST (5 cylinder turbo)
Not sure about that, I think the XR5 is roughly the same as our 'ST' so it's Focus XR5 Turbo and Mondeo XR5 Turbo (equivalent to the Focus ST and the Mk4 Mondeo ST that we never actually got, nearest being the Mondeo 2.5T Sport)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Focus_(second_ge...
there is no plain "XR5"

The Ford Focus Mk 2 ST is also known as the XR5 Turbo in the Australian and New Zealand market, but is sold as a five door hatchback only. In 2008 Ford, in conjunction with Mountune Racing, unveiled a power upgrade kit which raises the power output to 260 bhp (190 kW). the kit consists of: a K&N panel filter, larger intercooler and a re-map. No saloon version of the Focus ST has been released.
Looks like they have dropped the "XR5 Turbo" name now, and called it the ST.Edited by Bibbs on Wednesday 3rd September 01:18

One year when I was getting my XR4x4 MOT'ed, it was up on the lift and a junior mechanic came up to me, and said: "'Ere mate, gaffer says your Sierra is four wheel drive, is he having me on?". So I looked at the badge, checked there weren't any parrots flying over (it did sound like a typical "long stand" wind-up but he did look genuine) took him to the front of the car, and pointed at the front drive shafts. "Ooooohhhhhh...." said bright spark.
Sigh. You just can't get the staff.
The Cosworth body variant of 3 door Sierra started life as the sexy and interesting (may not be true) 1.3 and 1.6L, usually in hearing aid beige.
