The car .isnt that much worse on fuel than any other petrol six cylinder.

Insurance, servicing and tyres will be quite a bit more though. Not to mention the premium of buying one in the first place!

Eeked 40.3mpg out of my 330ci this weekend sat at 60mph, and only dropped to 37.1 while doing 70. Use a bit of oil but as reliable an engine as you'll find.
