Agree. They didn't look right on this car. Not did the XK dash. The dash particularly grated because if anyone has seen the original wood trim and cappings on a MKII it is baffling to remove such things of beauty.

However, it was an option. RG had another Beecham MKII which retained original trim.

I came extremely close to buying the latter as it looked to be a perfect family car with original MKII looks but driving like a modern XKR.
Yes, the dash looked absolutely awful on that car. Particularly the airbag-laden wheel and the centre console. It was literally a Mk2 body plonked onto a modern Jag.

They also had an XJ13 replica in (you can see it in the background and also in subsequent pics on my Flickr) and that was very much a thing of beauty. It was a very reasonable £68k as I recall - cheaper than the Beecham.

It was not offensive when reported it's Ian Callum's personal car/expression. Offering a chav'ed Mk II, however, is tasteless.
What's chav about it?

The stereo?
The stereo is horrendous, the whole car is a classic design that has stupid oversize wheels on it, stupid plastic bumpers, the dash treatment is a sin and it's German dull diesel company car grey.
That's what's chat about it, if Jordan had a mk2, this would be it.

But don't try and fit a tacky body kit into a car that was visually perfect in the first instant. I would imagine even Mansory or Kahn would wince at what has been done.
Ouch. That's harsh, man. That's harsh. smile
That it is Jon, but this is an A grade student delivering a B- piece of work.
Possibly the most scathing review I have ever read, I have to say I agree.

I get the Eagle Low Drag and the Speedster ... but this?

The red office is a bit too HK500 for me.

Cmc will sell every single one that they can make. That's the only justification needed.

Every time I see it, I just think...

Between this and the Callum Mk2, one of them has bumpers appropriate to the heritage, and wheels that are the correct size for the arches and the proportions of the car. Sadly, it isn't the Jaguar.

Silly me, I thought the gorgeous leather & wood interiors were one of the defining features of an old classic 'Jag' ?......But then what do I know ?

Not for me. There seems to be a fashion to make cars look menacing and possibly owned by an oligarch / drug dealer. Personally I prefer beautiful cars in pretty colours; like my women. So a Mk11 in a period colour with chrome bumpers rather than plastic bumpers, pointless vents and a colour akin to light tarmac.
What he said.

For me, though, the real disappointment is the interior. Things like satnavs and DVD players are not in the spirit of the Mk. II at all and if you really struggle with reading a map, you could always be a removable satnav.

CMN. I must say I agree with your every sentiment, though at only the price of two 'base' Ferraris plus a very nice pre owned 911, come on, what do you expect, leather seats as well ?!

If I had done this to a Jaguar and put it on PH to show it off as the greatest thing since sliced bread, I would have received so much flak that I would never have been able to post again.
However, because he designed one of the loveliest cars ever with the DB7, I have to look at it more carefully.

Long pause......due consideration............................

Still an abomination
