I saw one of these in the flesh yesterday, driving behind a camera car, Jeremy Clarkson at the wheel on the way to an electric point at Blyth Services. The car itself looked very cool.

This has driven me to look at the spec's.

0-62 4.4 seconds and 134 mpg. That's impressive.

The electric future is becoming more interesting.

It would be if they happened at the same time for a few hundred miles.

I'm sort of tempted, and it appears to make sense on paper.

However, I suspect the technology will progress very quickly and the car will become "old hat" equally fast.

Early editions of The Future rarely fare well. Anyone for a 2000s mobile phone? Laptop? Flatscreen TV?

I've seen one in the wild.

Really eye catching. Like it's been beamed onto the M25 from outer space.

134mpg would be impressive but I have read reviews stating more along the lines of 25mpg.

Looks very cool but that level of performance at only 25mpg is weak.

I've saw one in blue/black on Gray's Inn Road yesterday. Certainly bigger than I thought it was going to be. It looks like nothing else on the road.

I really like it, and want one. It's very bold by BMW - the other rivals have been caught napping.

I thought it looked amazing until someone told me it looks like it's trying to give birth to a 991 911. Now I can't unsee it!

Indeed, but even being able to get 0-62 in 4.4sec OR 134mpg is impressive!

Most tests suggest that driven "normally" the car returns mid 40mpg, something that no M3 or similar cars of that performance can do!

Saw one of these today on a drive out. What a thing of beauty and chatting to the owner he seemed to love it (also fair play to the owner for chatting to a random girl who was taking pictures and started questioning him)

Really stands out and got noticed by quite a few people who came out of the pub/restaurant it was parked in.

The only downfall was me not getting a picture of the interior which was an amazing place to be.

IMHO for the money, the technology and performance on offer is a great combination. Even more so the i3, considering its price.

I like to think BMW didn't expect to capture as many peoples imagination as it has with this car. If only it was more attainable - but then, it is effectively a production concept car.

Didn't a couple of recent road tests manage to average about 20mpg out of the thing over the course of their tests? Now I know journalists are hardly the most economical of drivers, but still... hehe

Looks correct to me; old school delivery position, back bottom is the BMW roundel.

Saw one the other week, overtook me at a fair pace.

Pulled up along side it at lights a bit later, seriously impressive looking thing, weird how all the different colours, wacky angles and odd shapes work so well.

Would love to have a go in one.

Saw one in the flesh at GT Cafe. Horrible looking thing. Looks like a cheap made in taiwan kids toy.
