I have the pauper version which manages without the supercharger but 400bhp still makes it a lot of fun. Currently landscaping my daughters house a V8 wheelbarrow aka Commodore Ute makes those trips to the tip much quicker. It is also fully tax deductible as it is designated as a work vehicle and the 6 speed manual with large bore exhaust you can dream you are in a Maserati as blip through your down changes.
Well played sir. Well played

It might be a bit tenuous, but with a bit of a squint it reminds me of the early 2000s MG ZT from the front...something about that grill...

Ironic that the Aussies still indulge in producing some of the most insane muscle, whilst also having some of the lowest and heavily-policed speed limits in the civilised world!

There was a normal 400bhp one for sale on PH a few weeks back. I wish I had 19k to play with, I'd have bought it, I need one of these sooooo badly.

- indeed - but I think it's green or orange only, unless you break out the rattle cans..?
I think that's two new colours - others are available.

6 minute, mildly cheesy vid with more details and a tiny bit of smoky tyre action:

Saw lots of these hot utes while out in oz. Fab things.

Can't imagine they ride very well,or have much traction. Very much like my mk1 escort smile

How quick are they,anybody know?

On the PH scale they are 'Dangerously Slow'.

How about PH running a comparo between a V8 Ford Falcon pick-up/ute and an HSV pick-up?

Lets do it before the globalisation of the modern auto industry swallows them up for good?

Aussie utes will soon disappear - or morph into something quite different. (Like a Hilux...)

This car and its Ford brethren really are last of the mohicans. The only other product that reminds me of an Aussie ute are the American el-Caminos et al

A standard (non supercharged, 100bhp less) automatic Maloo set an 8.19 lap time at the ring in the damp.

They don't get off the line too well, 0 - 60 is quoted at mid 4's but difficult to achieve.

Mark Skaife set a ute world speed record with a two way average of 168mph in the previous 'VE' model with 425hp so the GTS with 576bhp should see the far side of 180.

iirc this is classed as a comercial vehicle

anyone who has a C class/320d would end up with £3,000 per year in their back pocket (after tax) if they used this vehicle instead

The world is certainly a better place for having this kind of thing.

Gloriously irrelevant, but still glorious.
yes

Totally and utterly wonderful. Enjoy this sort of thing whilst you can, ladies and gentlemen...because the future, quite frankly, looks boring and terrifying in equal measure.
