Seems like a good physical discount code to me.

Rock up, pay the reduced rate, drive 100 yards, break down, walk back, get another one of their cars for the weekend.

It's not like they're going to have two of them, right?

I loved my brown with brown leather Allegro VDP. Was exceptionally comfortable too with the hydragas suspension. Even after being left on the drive for 2 months whilst I was at uni it just needed a battery boost.
I want it back but I still can't afford it.

Why, its survived this long, it isnt a threat, you dont have to drive one and it is, for better or worse, part of our motoring heritage.

Weird attitude, the real world isnt a episode of Top Gear.

I am sorry you are so wrong on this one....I love classic cars but cannot understand why some cars that were dreadful in their day are preserved. Let me also assure you that I had no time for these even before Top Gear.

We're a bit backward up in my area, still using these as police cars:-

Maybe I'll try to upload the cam video to prove this was actually driving along!

It isnt like it matters either way, someone obviously has some love for them. I think anything that was part of our history should have a few examples saved, even if it is so new car designers can see how not to do it.

Most cars were pretty dreadful back then, what did we have, the Pear shaped Renault 14, the majesty of the Talbot range, the sexy Chevette, Datsuns that werent too bad but you could watch them rust, the Golf wasnt all that great either and the Germans hadnt finished sending us Beetles.

Indeed it is nice a few examples survive from a historic point of view.
but it does not alter the fact that they were and indeed still are biblicly poor cars
and stand as an example of the dark days of BL when it really did seem like they
designed cars with a committee of folk who never actually met or saw each others drawings!
or saw it as acceptable to sell cars in the 70's using methods and technology from the 50's

Backed by a workforce with a greedy self-defeating mindset.
in many ways it is astounding it even survived long enough to become rover group.

Can't believe the website does not have an online booking system for their rental cars. An old-fashioned site for old-fashioned cars! It must cost them customers.
We do have an online booking system, thanks. The only classic hire company with one, I agree it would cost us customers otherwise. Rgds Graham

Cheers for the comments. I put it on the fleet with a glint in my eye, but they have a following and deserve their chance in the spotlight I reckon. We can't cut the price less than £95/24 hrs or £160/weekend although I'd love to - most of that is the insurance. But give me a call and we'll always try to work something out....
