Strange how kicking at flames seems to have no extinguishing effect.

Probably the rental company using some flammable detailing products on the car.

Nomex sandles are quite impressive though.

A while ago a guy visiting Victoria from Queensland hired a 911 for a day. Unfortunately he got caught doing burnouts, and plod impounded the car.....for 30 days.

He was then liable for the hire costs because it was returned late laugh

Didn't realise he was trying to put the flames out, I thought that was a bhangra dance.

Why should just revving the engine make it catch fire? The other day a Gallardo engine caught fire on the way to the Sharnbrook Hotel Supercar Sunday, with similar flames coming out of one bank of exhaust pipes.

Back in the 1980s someone hired out a Countach for a weekend and then returned it to the hire company with slight marks on the bodywork. Turns out they'd just used it as the basis of a mould for producing the panels of a fibreglass kit-car! At least it would have been an accurate replica!

I used to work in the automotive industry and our company often rented cars that they would take to pieces -as in, entirely dismantle, in order to investigate some manufacturing process or another. They would then rebuild the car and send back to the hire company a month later with 2 extra miles on the clock!

Was that car wrapped? Looks to me that it was, so possibly the vinyl catching fire?

I would think its fuel in the exhaust and catching fire from being revved to maximum revs whilst static, and as its not moving the flames dont shoot out behind but rise up the bodywork.

Still, better than those weddings where people fire AK47s in the air.

Is it possible someone used some kind of accelerant to 'enhance' the flame effect?
