The racing was great. The good grace with which you acceded to my request for a photo in the paddock, taken by my 10 year old son, just ahead of the TT race was even more impressive. You must have thought "Who is this guy?". You are a gentleman. Thank you.

My tip to Mr. Harris would be that he can obviously find another second around Goodwood by adding the necessary second barrel to his surname :-)

I like your current fleet, SS. beer It'd be good to see (some photos of) the 3500 GTI when ready.

Harris-Tweed, perhaps? Groan. Whilst I'm doing nothing for my own popularity:

instead vehicle owners are sent an invite for their car or motorcycle..
One is not sent 'an invite', but 'an invitation' (particularly when not an American). My current pet peeve, sorry. Awesome article, and a great show in what I reckon is the most exciting sprint race of the year - thanks for the write up.

Having watched most of the live streams for both the FOS and the Revival this year, I'm desperate to make the c. 450 mile pilgrimage - I'm in Glasgow - to attend at least one of them next year. The Revival, in particular, was fantastic.

Great stuff, Harris.
Then do the revival, I've been doing FOS for over 20 years and it's a brilliant 4 days but 3 days at the revival is far better. The racing is like watching a BTCC race with all the contact but better.

I was cheering for you monkey and was hoping that red jag wasn't going to catch you up but alas; he was on it. Listening to the cars accelerate out of Madgwick up towards Fordwater was absolutely fantastic. That #2 cobra! unbelievable through Madgewick, nobody was going to catch him. when Giedo spun, it looked like 1st was lost but a great comeback from him.

I also enjoyed Matt Neal & Andrew Jordans scrap; Jordan just nicked it on the last lap! brilliant racing.

If anybody is think about going; book now for next year and get planning; you won't regret a second of it!

My partner Racheal works for LM and the events team at Goodwood and I'm so proud of her and the work they do to put together what must be one the best motor racing meetings in the world. I was chatting to Paul O'Neil, his first time at Revival, and he was blown away by it. Rob Huff seconded Paul's feelings and was quoted by Charles March yesterday at the post Revival lunch!

Great write up Chris, very envious yet inspired too!

By the way Rach said she'd seen you on Sunday, in the assembly area and thought you were very handsome... git, I just can't compete biggrin

Thanks. There are some photos of the ongoing restoration on the "Projects" page of the DTR website. When it is done, I will post some photos of the finished article.

Chris,

I was a guest of the chap who owns the stunning 330 GTO.

It actually used to belong to my dad's best mate and it's a car they used to drive down to the pub on a saturday night! The Swiss owner is as down to earth as you could imagine and was great company for the day. We actually brought along some original parts that we found in my dad's (now deceased) mates garage.

There is some interesting information about the 250 GTO which I won't share publicly. Please feel free to PM me if you would like to know more.

Perhaps PH could have a 'Classic' section to it (unless I am mistaken and have completely missed this section??)?

I know classic car lovers are in the minority, but I think now that even cars in the early 90s are nearing 'Classic' status and given that true PHers are a minority bunch anyway, why not have a classic car section?

Just a thought...
What a great idea.

Try looking on the menu page.

I was at the revival on Friday and boy those GT40's blew me away the noise and the speed was incredible. Some fantastic machinery racing hard core.

The revival is so much more than racing, fab atmosphere, old planes, cars, bikes will be there next year for a sat or sun.

Also been to FOS and although a great event they are so different.
Well done to all those invloced the the organiser, drivers and owners as many thousands of peope had a great time.
