Anyone know why the rear wheels have a strange red stripe on some spokes (you have to view the actual advert)?

Because these things normally have prototype parts the car companies can't afford the liability of allowing them out in the wild hence 99.99% of them are crushed. If crushed you can also claim the cost of development back as a tax deductible expense hence there's really no reason for them to sell them on. Someone at Ferrari must have had a soft spot for the old thing, quite a nice story really.

The coolest car in the workshop is always the very first prototype with no trim, racing seats, roll cage, wires everywhere etc.

If I was super rich I would buy this and have it rebodied so it looked more like an evolution of the F40 / F50. There is an Enzo out there that was reboddied (I think a lot more went into it than just that its been on PH) so why not do that to this and as such create an F60.

Isn't the Enzo unofficially the F60? I wouldn't touch it, there's something really cool IMO about it being a test-bed for the Enzo and I imagine it's a hoot to drive cloud9

I remember seeing the Supercharged V6 Exige S prototypes about. Shorter wheelbase than the production version IIRC and big riveted on bubble arches. Gorgeous.

As far as I know, SID is still kicking about at Hethel as well. I woul love that car, but I think I'd be in a long waiting list!

As a 348 owner, this is my dream car.

the 90s really missed a v12 mid engine full production Ferrari..

Maybe now Luca is gone, they'll go back to making good cars again, with flat 12s.

All it does is make you realise how big the Enzo is!

Naa. I'm not a great Enzo fan if I'm honest.. Perhaps a bit too much F1 & Michael Schumacher in it.. I prefer things a little less polished..

Such a bad ass Ferrari, oh how I need to be a millionnaire!

Let's hope it gets driven, and driven hard!

I would think that'd be to help calibrate the traction control - film a hard launch on a high speed camera and you can see exactly how quickly the wheels are rotating etc.

Very cool car IMO, but might be a bit of a challenge getting it registered for the road though?

That is gorgeous!! Shades of a 959 in the extended bum but I think that actually looks in brilliant proportion. To me, than is better looking than any Ferrari in the last decade or two.

The epitome of function over form having the rear extended. The 360 lights are a bit funky, some tweaks to take it totally back to period would make it perfect.

That's the only Ferrari I actually want right now, I'm off to the classified to fantasy shop 348s...
