Out of interest, why are you buying in Germany? We have E46's over here, and I gather the UK second hand market is much cheaper than in Germany, plus no import/export hassle.

Why I am going to Germany to get my car; It has always been a childhood dream to go to Germany, buy an E46 (M3 actually) and drive back home. Crazy but hey

Has anyone manager to get fully comp insurance cover for a car on export plates ? Or is the 3rd party the only the option ?

I see some companies do an online one stop shop for export plates that don't require a visit to the local reg office. Anyone used these ?
