hi ben and welcome !
please, are you able to confirm my numbers quoted above ?
Confirm what? Their revenue numbers? You've seen that yourself in the report. What you will also have seen is that their actual profit is quite low by the time they have paid for their staff, offices and those expensive stands at airports and Westfield shopping centres.please, are you able to confirm my numbers quoted above ?
The actual prize fund would be less though as it is frequently much cheaper cars that are won.

Good business model though as a shiny aspirational car and often a captive audience (people stuck in airport lounges) is going to lead to rational thinking going out the window

The returns to players is horrific in comparison to the lottery or euro millions.

Most of us play on line now, it's in the report somewhere the split in numbers between online and the actual sites. Good business model though as a shiny aspirational car and often a captive audience (people stuck in airport lounges) is going to lead to rational thinking going out the window
When you compare to winning the lottery or euro millions do you mean the actual jackpot? Or the messily £3 you can win on euro millions which makes the odds of winning a prize appear much higher. The odds may be less for BOTB as there is only one winner.

£7m revenue, 24 cars. Lets say £100k each as in Andrews estimate, which is presumably way over (they have some cheap stuff like Caymans etc don't they). So only a third of the money coming in, is being spent back out to customers. When you compare to winning the lottery or euro millions do you mean the actual jackpot? So you end up with what, a 50% worse return on your 'investment' compared to playing the lottery. And with this you end up with a car you either didn't actually want, or couldn't afford. I'd rather have actual cash from a lottery win
I appreciate there is some value in having a look at the car while you're bored and stuck in an airport.... but playing this stuff online seems to be rather silly.

I'm not sure I agree. I play the game online regularly as I want to win a £100K car. It is certainly not a car I wouldn't actually want and I'm sure that is the same for most of the regular players that make up the majority of their revenue. So you end up with what, a 50% worse return on your 'investment' compared to playing the lottery. The odd's of winning the Euro millions jackpot are 1 in 116,531,800 although that does reduce to 1 in 6,473,989 for winning €300K.
And you thing BOTB offers worse odds than that?

They're not offering worse absolute odds, clearly. The odd's of winning the Euro millions jackpot are 1 in 116,531,800

But you don't need to win 50 million euros to buy a Maserati do you ? 5 numbers and a bonus ball on the normal lottery would probably see you in one.
If you're only playing because you want to win a £100k car, and not because you enjoy the game itself.... then you're a fool (sorry ). There are plenty other gambling methods that you could spend the same money on, and give yourself a way better chance of ending up in that car.
