Insurance is odd isn't it?

Yes, LeighW being quoted £347 for a Gallardo as above proves it. They sat round and decided that £347 was the most they could get for a Gallardo. £350 would put people off. Edited by TwigtheWonderkid on Thursday 18th September 10:02

Admiral wanted another £200 if I said my car was kept in a locked garage overnight, as opposed to being kept on the road outside my house.
It's still bloody obvious which household owns the car (if anyone really wanted to burgle the house for the keys to a couple of grands worth of hatchback...), so I came to the conclusion that lots of people must crash their cars going into/out of their garage. Which is worrying...
Considering the size of garages in this country and the ever growing size of new cars, are you really surprised? It's still bloody obvious which household owns the car (if anyone really wanted to burgle the house for the keys to a couple of grands worth of hatchback...), so I came to the conclusion that lots of people must crash their cars going into/out of their garage. You haven't met my dad then? It's still bloody obvious which household owns the car (if anyone really wanted to burgle the house for the keys to a couple of grands worth of hatchback...), so I came to the conclusion that lots of people must crash their cars going into/out of their garage. That said, how many 20 year olds crash into their garage? I know we (young drivers) have a bad reputation, but it's not exactly for stuff like crashing into garages...our style is, apparently, more burying Corsas upside down in someone's front garden.

If you can't park a Panda 100HP in a garage, even a small one, it's time to hand back you driving licence. I can fit it in my distinctly average sized garage and normal sized human could get out of any of the car's doors. That said, I'm in no way surprised that people can't park in a garage, seeing as some people seem to struggle to park in a bloody massive supermarket car park.

I'd love to see the full stats and figures but I assume a lot of it will be fairly well guarded.

AFAIK there's nothing secret about accident figures, it's probably quite easy to get from the ONS. However, the rating formulae created by an insurer's actuaries will probably be closely guarded.Edited by xRIEx on Thursday 18th September 10:54
