Phone, wallet and keys are always with me, either in my pockets or in the door-pocket. Otherwise...

In the daily:

  • Satnav
  • Phone cradle/charger
  • Bluetooth headset (not that I ever use it)
  • Chewing gum/mints
  • CDs (yes, still use them!)
  • Spare bulbs
  • Water
  • Umbrella
  • De-icer
  • Whatever random stuff I have kicking around in the boot....
In the Westfield:
  • Rain cover (all I have space for!)

Regarding water being so easy to get hold of, after 3 hours on the m11 I was glad of the spare water I'd packed. So don't mock.

The other point to make is that I'd rather pay £2.00 for 6 bottles of water in a supermarket than £1.50 for one bottle from the services. More money in my pocket means more money for sheds and (un)necessary cars and car gadgets.
