Wheel widening?
Discussion
Hi,anyone suggest good firms to do wheel widening on my classic car?It runs Dunlop Pressed steel wheels with 3 eared spinners like the MGA.Its 5" at present and I was going to go up to 6" or 6&1/2",I know that skinny wheels/tyres were original but I just love the wider rim look.I think uprated E-Types look so much better on wider rubber, there is just too much wheelarch on show on my car for my liking.Any info much appreciated.

Won't widen your current wheels, but can make any size you require ....not cheap mind

Great website, could spend a fair penny going through their catalogue!http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/
I'd be very thoughtful if they are for the GK.
To get the right offset so they don't rub on the inside when turning you will have them rubbing on the outside on the bodywork.
I've just been helping a mate sort out tyres for his and it was a bit of an issue as the previous owner had the wheels widened and got the offset wrong (inside fronts had been worn to the canvas on the inside wall by rubbing on wishbones) but there's bugger all room against the bodywork.
I'd definitely ask who has had it done on the GK thread and got it right.
