Because I've yet to seen one that hasn't done a Picasso on itself and removed it’s left ‘ear view mirror.
Wouldn't that be the Citroen Van Gogh?
dooh! Early 20th century impressionist painters are not really my thing.

To the Citroen Van Gogh (aka Picasso, Xsara etc) I'd like to add the Vauxhall Zafira as a good contender for car most likely to be driven by 'woman with no manners, no clue and several horrible kids'. No offence intended if you are a Vauxhall Zafira driver, it's just that I've yet to see one not driven by said person.

Close enough. Look at the Renault espace thread in readers cars.

Lexspace I think it's titled.

We had one,

the mirrors do fold in but they get stiff over time, and break off,

it was three years old ex motability, great for knocking about in,
in three years, i did three oil changes, never had any problems with it

Not quite but nearly. Picassos are for people who really honestly don't give a st about cars.

Golfs are for people who like to pretend they don't give a st but are actually seriously anally retentive about cars.

HTH smile
Ever been in sensory deprivation? I imagine its similar to a Picasso....

Don't own one but my friend does. It's a 2006 model. The closest I have come to it is shutting the boot. That told me everything about the build quality. There was no solid thunk, more of a clang. It felt hideous.

My car is hardly anything special (Seat Toledo W reg) but at least it doesn't feel like it will fall apart every time you shut a door. Hateful thing, could never own it no matter how practical.

I own a Picasso. It had both mirrors intact. I also own a TVR and run a workshop repairing TVRs and building kit cars.

Not sure if I like cars or not, could you inform me?

Clearly not. You dare to own a picasso.

French car boot closes with a clang.

Who'd have thunk it?

Are you daft? Not only are the golf gti, r32, r or gtd cars that could easily be perceived as cars that people that have an interest in cars would drive but there are also people like me that are more than just interested in cars but actually design them that drive a golf simply because they are efficient, comfortable and reliable.
Pffffft I drive what appears to be the PH antichrist. A 2.0 TDI Golf (54 plate / 140). Granted I'd have gone for a GTI if I had a shorter commute (30kpa), but that's life. It does the job well, and I dare say on this of all places, it was rather fun around the yorkshire dales earlier this year.

According to PH, I should have utterly no interest in cars or driving, especially going by my car history. Hell, I probably shouldn't be on this forum in the eyes of many. However I'm here and I do have an interest.

I don't think it's all about what a person drives, but HOW they drive and whether they are interested in any aspects of driving / cars / other related stuff. To be honest, you could be in a Micra / Picasso / F-Type / Veyron / MX5 / Allegro - it wouldn't give me an opinion about your petrolhead-ness. A conversation on the other hand...

Disaster on wheels.

Not for the actual car itself which, whilst I don't like them, serves it's purpose pretty damn well but for the people that drive them,

Not only do they have no interest in cars but they also have an alarming disinterest in being able to drive properly or pay attention.

Big round box for someone completely braindead and regret filled, numb to their kids complaining about their insignificant little lives in the back whilst they complete their daily errands of school run, talking about the latest celebrity break up over a coffee break at their admin job and finally shopping for microwaveable meals so they can fill their annoying little kids gobs with trash with the least hassle possible.
So you don't like women

Or the working classes

Or popular culture

Or administrators?

You're AWESOME!!!!! Please tell me what you think about: immigration, black people, homosexuality, Islam, feminism, the disability rights movement and global warming.

We'd agree about so much that we'd probably be BFFs.

So if I can be so bold as to summarise:

Some people genuinely dislike the one eared wonder that is the Citroen Picasso
Some people pretend they like it, but only because they have one

and one person owns one but also has a TVR - how does that work?? do you have a sticker on the back of the picasso that says, 'my other car's a TVR'

To be honest I tend to put all the mini and mid MPV's, as well as the full size ones, the Berlingo and Partner, into the same box. Grudgingly bought for a purpose or bought because the owner really sees their car as nothing more important than a washing machines and possibly less time spent considering the purchase than the last TV they bought.

Would be interesting to know the number of people who go "Oh a Picasso, that's the car for me!" verses those that go "Oh st, that's it then, best get a Picasso or Espace for what I need a car to do at the minute."

why do the french build such awful consumer goods? The only decent cars they've ever built were the Renault 5 turbo (mid engined version) and the Venturi thing.

This is true, if you have a blinkered view of cars.

Last month I drove a 07 Xsara Picasso 1.6 petrol from Manchester to Dover, through Flanders to Bruge. I then drove back via St Omer.

Not a problem. It was comfy- held ALOT of camping kit, a road bike and three people all inside with 100% rear view.

I think too many people suffer from reverse-snobbery.

I bought ours as a stop-gap. Mrshora went from GET RID OF IT RIGHT NOW to 'you know I don't know why you want to get rid of it as I like it'.
A mate and his Mrs have no kids and if any appear they are not planned for a few years yet.

He has just bought an Evoque!

Much discussion was had but it's his call at the end of the day and he was not moved by my sportscar suggestions, and even DSG Golfs were out.

As I sat in it the other day having a play with the buttons and the like I thought to myself "Never in a million years would I want one of these but if I had to I think I could handle it."

Hugo laughs at the comment I made about cars being bought "for a purpose" but it is true both ways. My mate doesn't need anything like an Evoque. In fact for his motoring needs a Diesel Golf or even a Smart car would do just as well if not far better!
