My drive gets used as a turning circle sometimes. It winds the Mrs up more than me, but I do find it rather impolite - particularly given that our house is between two sodding roundabouts.

A visitor to the house opposite used to always use our driveway to turn around. She didn't use the drive that she was visiting - which is the same size. No-no - she'd used ours, every single time. And she didn't just use the rather large pavement in front of our drive either - she always came up on the drive. Except if I was outside, then she'd always use the roundabout instead. Cheeky bh.

Came home at lunchtime today to find a family of 4 tourists (French plates on their car) having a picnic in their car at the top of my drive. It’s wide enough there for me to get passed easily enough but still... gave them a hard stare when we got out at the house and they cleared off.

The Highlands are a magnet for idiots these days.

Surprised at some views on here, but using others peoples private property really should not be on.

Heck I get peeved when some of takeaway c*nts that come to our house (on the odd occasion we do have takeaway) find it "okay" to park on our drive! Our drive is not for you to use (or at least ask us first!).
At least they were delivering to you. Last year one of the local, Just Eat / Deliveroo types dumped their car on my drive (reversed on) within an inch of the front bumper of my car banghead They then walked off to the house 2 doors down. He could easily have parked in the unused marked space outside the house they were delivering to, but instead decided to use my drive as it probably saved him all of 20 seconds not having to do a 3 point turn once he'd finished doing the delivery rolleyes

If you're delivering to me, fair enough, use the drive if you have to but, saying that, please try to avoid dinging my car. But delivering to a neighbour and using my drive is a bit of a piss take IMO.

Yep. Some more so than others. Then we all wonder why we're unfit.
Unless you know someone very well its impossible to say if they are lazy or not

Yep. It's hard to say that spending thousands so you can press a button rather than get out of the car to open the gates is anything but laziness.
Driving a car is lazy, where do you draw the line.
You can't draw lines easily with crayons. laugh

Lazy walkers and cyclists. I inchworm everywhere. Naked. As previously mentioned on another thread.

Had a licensed taxi driver use our driveway to turn round today. I happened to be outside, on the driveway. Called out to him and asked him politely not to use our driveway. The road is plenty wide enough.

I was met with a range of expletives and advice to seek help. He encouraged me to complain and said he will be coming back every day to use our drive.

So since he insisted I’ve reported him.

Whether you agree or not to any harm from using someone else’s property without invitation, being told by the person who’s land your on to get off it, should surely be met with apology?

Was it really worth being a dick about a one off occurrence? Makes you sound like a right Gerald.

Probably not, but principles!

But equally should he not be a complete dick about it if it’s a one off occurrence?

Holy thread revival, Batperson!

To whom did you report him?

I bet the police were very interested!

The taxi company presumably?

Sounds fair enough to me but this is PH.

I did want to lead with “holy thread resurrection”

I’ve written to my MP, the police, the firebrigade, his mother and the council.

Council as his taxi was licensed with no branding. I did immediately think why bother. We’ve had said driveway wrecked by a turning lorry a couple of years back.

Just the rudeness of doing something in front someone else on their property and not saying sorry mate, won’t do it again.

I think the taxi driver deserved reporting, not for turning around on a driveway, but for being a complete dick about it, I know this won't go down well but I think taxi drivers are the biggest bunch of pricks on the road, round here about 90% are complete pricks, and they wonder why everybody is suddenly using Uber.
