In that case - scenic route. Best of both worlds.

I used to drive to uni most days which was only about a mile. I am a lazy bd, but it actually made a lot of sense for me. It meant that when I'd finished, I could go to the shops or friends houses without walking all the way home and getting the car, and at the end of the week when I went to my parents place, I could go straight from uni. It was also nice not having to lug books/laptop around, or have to worry about them getting soaked when it rained. Didn't seem to do my car any harm either, although I was usually very careful driving it down there.

So, at the moment it gets to temperature by the end of the journey.

But you're thinking as it gets colder, this will not be the case.

But... as it gets colder, you will need to allow the car to warm up for an extra few mins on the drive anyway, to allow the windows to clear (or to scrape the windows for ice, or brush off snow).

Looks to me like a problem that automatically solves itself.biggrin

This post is a sad reflection on the state of Britain.

The fact that any able-bodied person feels the need to drive 1.whatever miles every day... it beggers belief.
