If I am to spend 10 minutes or so watching a video, I would like to learn something special about the car that stays with me for ever. It is about the car, not the driver.
What does that actually mean?

You'd rather there was no presenter? Or that they just read out facts without attempting to make it interesting?

They're damned either way. Half the people need a personality to tell them about the car and half seem to hate it.
Personality is helpful to deliver the message as this video (not quite car related though) amply illustrates.

And agree Metcalfe is certainly worth watching. And as others have pointed out the drifting/giggling action gets tiresome.

Like Harry's style as well , his evo diarys were always worth a watch . Liked his preview of the cars in the rm auction , very insightful . Catchpoles good as well , enjoyed his f 40 drive back to the uk .

I do tire of the Harris gratuitous sideways action.
Not just me then! smile
Make that another.

He's a thing. Next time you hear him debating the merits of the golf or over the BMW or the wotsit over the gamechanger... just substitute the two cars in question for orange and coffee Chocolate Revels. It adds a certain something to his reflective pontifications.

Orange revel always wins.

Watched that last night, first time I'd seen Catchpole and I liked him, will watch more of him I think. He's almost a bit Metcalfe in his style but in no way seems to be trying to imitate Metcalfe.

Love old Beanpole in the "Porsche Boxster GTS on Majorca" video:

Boxster GTS

Helped that it is well filmed and edited too, but i think this piece would stand in it's own right on something pretty mainstream like Top Gear etc!

Yes see what mean by that . His vid on hybrid cars thoughtful and a little bit different, defo worth a watch. For some reason got me thinking of metcalfes evo diarys when he did his Ferrari 330 , just showed how usable a 60 s Ferrari is , very cool .

Bovingdon is good but he suffers from the same flaw as Harris - having us believe that drifting is the only thing to judge a RWD car by. He also uses the words "absolutely" and "amazing" far too often.

He sure can drive though, no doubt about that.

I like Catchpole and Metcalfe as well.
