Does the 'red' fuel additive do anything?

Cant do any harm, I remember my brother putting some in his shed Sierra that was an ex-taxi, the crap that came out of the exhaust was unbelievable! I've since used it myself but with less dramatic results.
A tank of V-Power and an Italian tune up probably does a better job.
Oh Noes!!! Someone's got the wrong additive. A tank of V-Power and an Italian tune up probably does a better job.
This isn't Red Additive, in the sense of an expensive snake oil that appears to do nothing.
This is Red Additive in the sense of a cheaper snake oil that really doesn't do anything. The engine will run, with the additive, exactly how it did prior to it being put in. I also hear reports of the additive affecting the chemistry of the fuel are greatly exaggerated by those wishing to sell more of their own, differently coloured additive.
As a final note, the engine won't dye but you may experience reddish smears on the insides of some of the components. If you can put up with that then use the red additive.
