old one was a limited run proper skunkworks car, only 10 a day where made

this will be an unlimited run straight production line car, probably with dynamic steering and setup for "joe normal" which will be a shame since it will make it very fast A - B and totally univolving and dull just like the A45 and M235i

it needs to be 400bhp as well, which it wont be, marketing will ensure it fits neatly in the family line up ..

The fact half people on here go ooo £50k for an a3 means it should stay fairly exclusive, not sure most people who bought the last one really knew it was a 'skunkworks' car

of course many will not know (unless there forum fanboi's) and they probably would not know that they do not have the audi manufacturer code on the V75 but rather quattro gmbh wink

but most people will assume that a car that there is a near infinite supply of will dump money a lot lot faster than one where there is only 600ish

My current car is supposed to be an understeery wreck but it doesn't bother me. Reviews say that any car that can't powerslide is rubbish so I choose to use my own head rather than a magazine.

The 8V S3 is apparently much better than the 8P (which I personally disliked) and hopefully, further development means that this car will be better than both. Keeping the 5-pot is a massive bonus and will differentiate it from the fast Golfs and their generic 4-bangers but it needs the ability to aggressively send power to the rear axle to work the tyres more evenly this time around. Combining the interior, practicality and the other essential but dull necessities from the standard A3 with the 5-pot and Evo IX-like handling would make for a great car.

Re. the Bavarian competition; I'd like to see a 1M hatch as well as the 2-door. I'm a fan of the "breadvan" shape.

Autobild drove in the passenger seat of the new RS3. Same 2.5L engine with optimized intercooler, "feels like 400 PS", optional ceramic brakes, eight piston calipers front.

Haldex calibration similar to the TTS, "light understeer in the corners" (mind you this is Audibild reporting this so who knows how light it really is), "stable, fast and unspectacular", standard wheels are 235 but apparently Audi still offers 265 front / 235 rear upon request. Sub-8 second laptimes on the Nordschleife.

Now, that IS quick wink

I hope it's not "unspectacular"... I am still interested and the TTS got a pretty good review in Evo, recently so the TT-RS should be 'better', thus the RS3 should be good!?

Lots of extrapolation there!
